Giuliani said in the filing that he won't contest their claim that he falsely accused the election workers of manipulating ballots, in order to "avoid unnecessary expenses in litigating what he believes to be unnecessary disputes."

As a result of the concession, there's no need for "any additional discovery or sanctions" in the case, Giuliani said in the filing.

Did they allow him to present anything?

He filed a motion stipulating that he in fact lied in order to avoid discovery (likely bc of costs), but that his lies were protected by the 1st amendment. He was already teetering on default bc of his failure to comply with discovery requests and then hail mary motion didn't save him.

HHTM once again finding a piece of MSM propaganda and gleefully posting it here to flame the board

from this article you linked:
quote:

Howell’s ruling is tied to a lawsuit that Freeman and Moss filed in 2021 against Giuliani in federal court in Washington for defamation, civil conspiracy and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Howell has now ordered the damages question to head to a jury.

now why did two Georgia residents file a lawsuit against a New York State resident in Washington DC Federal Court? Seems kind of weird

quote:

Giuliani has blamed several factors for his difficulties in searching his records for evidence relevant to the case. Those factors include the FBI’s seizure of his devices in 2021 as part of a foreign-influence investigation (which did not lead to any charges against him) and serious personal financial difficulties he has faced since Trump’s defeat in 2020.

quote:

“The FBI took every electronic device in my apartment and my law office,” Giuliani said at a May hearing in the suit. Indignantly insisting that he was not trying to deny the plaintiffs access to evidence related to their claims, he said: “I’ve been dealing with this for 50 years. I understand the obligation. … There’s nothing I want to hide. I’d like them to see everything. … Not being perfect doesn’t mean you’re deleting things. I don’t delete things.”

quote:

Ted Goodman, a political advisor to Giuliani, echoed that point Wednesday, calling the ruling “a prime example of the weaponization of our justice system, where the process is the punishment.”

“This decision should be reversed, as Mayor Giuliani is wrongly accused of not preserving electronic evidence that was seized and held by the FBI,” Goodman said.

maybe this is why they filed the lawsuit in a DC Federal Court. It is a real home court advantage

No, she's the woman seen pulling out the giant metal suit case out from under the table in state farm arena footage after they sent all the other workers home for the night....you know, the water pipe burst!

I think she went and bragged about it on social media saying she did illegal stuff with ballots.

Did you really think this case was actually going be in a live court room with sworn, before a judge, testimony??

Give me a break

That's All

It would have had he complied with discovery and not submitted some cockamamie motion where he stipulated that he in fact lied.

All that was scrubbed before she filed lawsuits.

Just like the FBI took all of Guliani's property so he couldn't defend himself.

But she's the one that was on audio and video (police body cam?) initially saying that she saw things that were illegal but that she was scared to speak and didn't know who to trust right?

true rudy definitely mishandled a lot of this but it is also apparent that he and his lawyers were skillfully maneuvered into a legal corner

looks like he is trying to minimize this so he can move on to appeal as quickly and "cost effectively" as possible

Wouldn’t Rudy just have to prove all the things he claimed were true?
He has the evidence right? Did the jury not get the chance to watch 2000 mules?

Giuliani didn’t submit any evidence at all

That’s the truth. I mean with hundreds of election workers on site, from some reason there were multiple cameras on her station all day and clips of odd behavior compiled and on the net in under a week after Election Day.

Judge Beryl Howell said Giuliani had flagrantly violated her orders to preserve and produce relevant evidence to the election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, resulting in a “default” judgment against him.

I think they skillfully maneuvered themselves into a corner when they filed the motion stipulating that he lied.

it was on youtube for a while, but looks like it gone now
