Ron DeSantis Just Changed Wine in Florida

quote:

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a law on Thursday that will expand the maximum allowable capacity for wine bottles. Before recent legislation was introduced, it was illegal to sell an individual container that held more than one gallon of wine in Florida, with some exceptions. If a seller violated this law and was convicted, they would get a second-degree misdemeanor.

1. The restriction on container size certainly seems to have been silly.

2. is this the point where someone says “sure is good to see Florida focusing on the really critical issues of the day.”

An arbitrary limit to container size was likely a law enacted by the liquor lobby, which wanted to move more containers at higher overall cost. That kind of law should be repealed. It was a product of a lobby group that was apparently powerful enough to enact silly laws.

Not sure if I've ever had it and if I did, I don't remember it. I only know of it because of that song.

Looking for that pic and saw it's like 15-20 dollars for a little over a gallon. That alone makes it sound like it's probably pretty bad.

Does doing this erase all of the other great things he has done recently

They aren’t mutually exclusive. At least he did the great things in a good order. If he would have focused on this first, I could see your points, but that’s not the case.

ANY law that take power away from the State and gives it back to the people and the businesses they own is a critical issue

Hey road, what's going on with the legalization of recreational marijuana in Florida? I thought I read somewhere where there's a potential for it to be on the ballot down there this November.

Don't remember where I read that, though.

Nvm, just found it. Looks like it made the ballot for this November.
