My favorite Republicans are Ben Shapiro and Ron Paul. But today I want focus on Ron Paul.

He seems to take a firm stance on his beliefs. I see someone speaking through experience when I listen to Ron. Thoughts?

ETA: Ron Paul is one of those guys that you're glad to support until he reveals that he is just a few feet short of being a raving lunatic. I remember seeing him on the Tom Snyder show in the 1980's and thought he was nuts. However, I voted for him in the Louisiana Primary in 2008 against Juan McCain, and would vote for him any day over any other Establishment blow-hard.

A wolf in the wilderness. One of the only politicians in the post-WW2 era that actually has Constitutional principles. He is a hero whom the American people didn’t and still don’t deserve.

Ron Paul is about 90% right on and 10% kooky AF. That's kind of a dangerous combination. Worked for Trump, though (and his kooky AF number might be higher, but on style more than substance).

You know, for some reason I tend to be attracted to Republicans that dont necessarily fit the "modus operandi" of most people who post here.

Listening to Paul makes me realize that the direction our government has gone under previous GOP administrations has been flawed. Flawed in that we dont really let the market correct itself. We let ourselves get caught in too many foreign wars. He seems to represent TRUE small government conservative values.

He’s a goddamn prophet, and should be the philosophical heart of the republican party, but instead is treated like a pariah. Ron Paul was the leader this country needed, not the one it deserves.

I like him a lot but he is a grandstander. His opinions are usually well thought out.

Paul is an Old Right conservative imo. He didn’t leave the Republican Party, it left him when the neocons took over. That was what drove him to the Libertarian Party. Paul was the closest thing to Robert Taft or Howard Buffett in Congress for the duration of his terms. Support for a commodity-backed currency, anti-imperialism and foreign policy non-interventionism were all once strong Republican ideals. I still think his 2008 and 2012 Presidential campaigns will forever change the Republican Party.

One of the greatest Americans in the last 30 years. No one has been proven right in politics more than Paul. I love the man.

He's a wet Libertarian finger in the wind, conspiracy theorist, and bat shite crazy.

He should be guest hosting Coast to Coast AM.

All of this. The only morally consistent politician in my life time.

Ron Paul is a man of principle who truly wants whats best for the American people and unlike Sanders,Ron actually has substance to back up his good intentions. No surprise the swamp has done everything they can to portray him as a kook and undermine his influence. Volod, if you like Ron I seriously recommend looking into his son Rand.

Very principled and understands freedom and the free market. I love Ron Paul but, as I've heard him say, most of the things he says Murray Rothbard said first. Both men are brilliant

This is something I’ve thought of before and I also wonder if Trump in 16 happens without Paul in the two elections prior. Paul laid a lot of the anti-GOPe groundwork that Trump took and ran with in 16. It’s a weird thing to ponder since they are so different but interesting nonetheless.
