A large portion won't care if Ron did this. The fact is no matter what Trump says will convince these people to come along. A sizeable minority of republicans are never Trump people.

Republicans aren’t the problem. He will be underwater with independents. And unlike the primary, the indictments will kill him in the general.

Trump will not be president, but I suspect most of his supporters know this deep down.
