quote:

My decision regarding a Supreme Court nomination is not the result of a subjective test of ‘fairness’ which, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. It is based on the immutable fairness of following the law, which in this case is the Constitution and precedent. The historical precedent of election year nominations is that the Senate generally does not confirm an opposing party’s nominee but does confirm a nominee of its own.

The Constitution gives the President the power to nominate and the Senate the authority to provide advice and consent on Supreme Court nominees. Accordingly, I intend to follow the Constitution and precedent in considering the President’s nominee. If the nominee reaches the Senate floor, I intend to vote based upon their qualifications.

The most logical thing he has said or done in years. Good for him for looking at this from a non-emtional perspective and and applying non-partisan logic.

The old white dudes in the Republican Party are the biggest group of cucks I’ve ever seen. They are right in line with the soyboys. Absolutely frick the left, but we should be demanding more answers from Republican leadership on why they’re being such pussies about the destruction of America.

Can you goobers take a win and walk away?

Yeeeh. He can, and likely WILL, disappoint me in the future. I’ll excoriate him then. I’m taking this win with a smile.

You can bet that the Romney Senate phones were melting in Utah and in Washington.

My bet is that a younger more motivated Republican Candidate will send Romney back home in his next election.

Maybe if it is the Cuban woman, but not if it is ACB. His base in Utah would string him up for that.

As a former Utahn this is truth. Utah is a different level of conservative. I have lived in the south also and there is no comparison.
