Yeah, right. Coming back from a deficit, actually funding education, and working to find $ to fix infrastructure surely caused the downfall of LA. Pretty sure it was 50 when JBE took office but can't find data past 2017. Surely can't be due to the fact Rs controlled both the house and senate as well as the governorship from 2011-2015. Nah, I doubt that had any effect at all.

WTH are ya'll talking about? As an independent, who really doesn't pay much attention to Louisiana politics, I watched and thought JBE was a defensive a-hole. Rispone, who doesn't inspire much confidence, did mention eliminating income tax...eventually...to be a competitive, not to mention tackling the constitution. Sounds good to me.

Lake Charles is still BOOMING. Yet, there are MANY out of state workers here because some people just don't want to work or there are not enough qualified locals to fill the positions. Hell, if the State is going to pay you to sit on your arse, why go to work?
BTW, do you eat Crawfish? How many Louisiana people are running the Crawfish Boats? It sucks, but if our young people want to play video games and not work, seems like you need to get some Green Card bah's who don't mind doing a Dirty Job. As long as they are legal and there is a need, well what else can you do?

How many reasons do you want?
Was his company hiring at the time, maybe they didn't have any projects that needed more people than what he already had
Maybe there were very few projects in Louisiana at that time and it's hard to find Louisiana people who want to travel and be away from their families for years. ( I am in this industry, live in Baton Rouge and haven't worked in Baton Rouge in 7 years. I am in Texas right now, there is nothing at home)
He is not going door to door seeing who needs a job, did they apply with his company?
As I have already said..this is a specialized industry and it's not easy to get a job if you are a older person with no experience in that field. Most of those people would not want those jobs because they would be making significantly less than they were making at their previous jobs if they have no experience.
You meantioned oilfield. Oilfield and industrial electrician or instrument tech are not the same thing. They would not be making anywhere near what they were making due to lack of industrial experience.
To work in most facilities you have to go get and pay for, out of your own pocket, a TWIC card that costs around $130. If you don't have that you aren't going to be hired more than likely. Did they take the initiative to go get that done and submit to the background check and month long wait to get card?
Can/did they pass a drug and alcohol test?
I'm tired of typing now so I'm gonna stop. Bottom line, I know more about this than you do.

Really got under JBE’s skin a couple of times and made him lose his composure.
I voted for Edwards as an anti-Vitter vote because Vitter is an awful human being.
I contend there were a lot of traditional conservatives like me that will now go back to Rispone.

Neither is Governor. Having just watched the debate its obvious Rispone has ideas but no plans. That's Trump. Did we not have any more compelling candidates among the state republicans? Rispone, if elected, will stumble his way along trying to figure out where the money is.
