Dude...I live in Virginia. You are 100% wrong on this. Outside of the D.C. suburbs and Richmond it is a very rural state.

Not to the extent Texas is, where the metro areas are outnumbered by the combination of the rural areas.

Virginia = Washington, where the majority of the state is rural, but the majority of the POPULATION is in leftist enclaves.

He has it as a close race, but says that Youngkin's advisors are giving him bad advice. Youngkin is distancing himself from Trump and even trashing Trump in an attempt to win the suburbs

The second he embraces Trump then the race will officially be over. People on here might not realize it, but over half of the country fricking HATES Trump with a passion that we’ve never seen before. The second he embraces Trump, all of the suburban voters who are either too complacent to vote, since their guy Biden won and is in the WH, will be angry and mobilize to vote against him. The suburban voters who split the ticket the last few cycles - Democrat/Libertarian for President and Republican in at least 1 race down-ballot, and are contemplating voting for Youngkin, will be turned off and won’t vote for him. They will not be seeing Glen Youngkin in the ballot, but rather Donald Trump, and they will crawl over broken glass to vote against him.

If you want to win VA, you need to reduce the Democratic margins in the suburbs, particularly NOVA and around Richmond. Embracing Trump won’t do that. In fact, it will be a bloodbath.

If Trump truly cares about VA having a GOP Governor, then he needs to shut his fricking mouth and stop being a baby demanding that Younkin “choose” to embrace him. That won’t end well in November. Instead, Trump is trying to make it all about himself. He’s a fricking loser who failed us, and we need to give him the same treatment we gave Dole, McCain, and Romney when they failed us and expressed interest in running again by telling him to frick off. Why the frick should Youngkin embrace and bow down to a loser who is no longer in the WH, let alone someone that is old as frick?

If Youngkin made any mistake, it was his comments last week when he spewed the Wood/Powell nonsense. The same nonsense, by the way, that even John Fredericks, who ran the Trump campaigns in VA for Trump in 16 and 20 and is regularly on with Bannon, has admitted is BS. That’s on Youngkin, though. He was doing what he needed to do and then, for some unknown reason, decided to repeat the BS spewed by a loser.

You are a bitch.

i am not saying Trump and Youngkin need to rally together and do the raised hands thing on stage. But Youngkin is going out of his way to distance himself from Trump and attack Trump. If he just remained neutral on Trump and didn't mention him, that's what he needs to do.

Trump hasn't injected himself in this race.

The only way to "reduce the Democrat margins in the suburbs" is to reduce the number of democrat voters. That means remove them from existence.

For bringing up facts? If so, then guilty as charged. Better than crackpot Wood and Powell theories.

He absolutely has. Last week he had his butt buddies, Bannon and Fredericks, do a rally where he called in. Nearly all of the merchandise at the event had his name on it. I’m sure that was a coincidence. He also told Youngkin in September that he “must” embrace him.

You clearly don’t actually analyze data.

The suburbs were being lost already during the McCain and Romey races.

Trump is the guy that actually changes the map and gave the GOP a chance again by appealing to the blue collar class (much more numerous than suburbanites in tie swing states).

LOL," what happened"? Rhinos happened. How shallow of you to think it all turned in 4 years because of "Trump"

I see what you are trying to do rhino. Stick with it "bill krystol" because you know, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome...

If this race is within 5 pts. It is really bad news for the Democrats come midterms. I don't see things getting better with their liberal policies.
Lots of Dem's in contested districts will retire to fight another day.

Electorally it really is not anymore and could barely be considered a "southern" state. The DC suburbs and the Tidewater areas control the electoral futures of the state. Consider the red vs blue map. Republicans have large swaths on the map but still lose big....Alexandria, Arlington and all those places within the beltway corridor are very liberal now and have been since about 2006. Same with the Norfolk, Hampton Roads area along with Richmond and Democrats have a formidable advantage.

The key is Loudon and other exurban communities. Flip those to Republican and Youngkin can squeak out a narrow win. It's soccer mom land.

Your summation of Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads shows a real grasp of electoral analysis and understanding. Of course it was RINOs and people not voting because they were not sufficiently " conservative" enough. Maybe you should look a little deeper into what is going on in the tidewater. You might see that it is a growing tech area that is heavily dependent on government contracts due to its position as the main East Coast naval center. Also demographics come into play. It is heavily African American and they vote Democrat....that's reality.

That being said Youngkin has proven to be a good candidate.

He is injected in this race. The Democrat attack ads are all about how Youngkin has Trump’s support. OMB syndrome is very strong in Parts of VA.
