Rhode Island has a weird law that I like - any other quirky laws in other states?

All state construction has to have a sign that says how much over budget it was and how late it was.

Love that!

Could you imagine that in LA?

In Louisiana it would never work

It would be:

900% over budget
12 years late

Exactly. Hate that crap. They tore down several miles of elevated interstate and rebuilt it in the time they have wasted on Lurleen Wallace Blvd.

In Louisiana they could put up a sign saying it took 4 years to locate a bridge location

In Kentucky it’s illegal to carry an ice cream cone in your back pocket.

The sign should list the general contractor and all sub contractors.

In Oklahoma, it is illegal to have the hind legs of farm animals in your boots, it is illegal to have live fish in a bowl on public transportation, it is illegal to take a bite of another person's hamburger, it is illegal to swear in the presence of women and children, it is illegal to spit on a sidewalk...

and by far the best...

...an old law still makes it illegal to give/receive oral sex.

Now, I've never had the hankering to plough livestock or end up with their hind legs in my boots some other way... and I've never carried a fish bowl onto a bus...

But some of those other laws I should be serving life in prison.

That is GREAT!

Only flaw is that contractors should be named.

Its the law in Kennesaw. All residents must own a firearm. It's obviously not enforced.

quote:

a)In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefore

quote:

b) Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability which would prohibit them from using such a firearm. Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony.
