You called it rat poison and said it numbed and subdued children.
rat poison - my opinion

I am pretty sure I said they used them to make kids compliant, I did say “numbed”

It is prescribed in many cases to make the kids easier to deal with and not because it is the best option for the child

that’s been my experience at any rate

One more thing I do know that it can and does help some, and maybe “rat poison” was a little harsh

I have an autistic child that has had far too many recommendations for pills; I acquiesced once, and still regret it

I’m just frustrated that it’s the knee jerk recommendation and want to keep my children off drugs

a personal note; I won custody of my now 21 year old when she was 13 months old; her mom was a big pill head and it started in high school - mom died of an “accidentall overdose” when our kid was around 12

my personal experiences have probably made me a little more harsh and dogmatic against prescriptions than maybe I should be; but I’m very excited about RFKjr…

Isn't Adderal a watered down version of meth?

Yes. Adderall is an amphetamine.

People maybe ignorant and choose to not take responsibility for their own decisions to take a drug and not watch the warnings that come with it.

big pharm runs high level marketing with beautiful people advocating how the new wonder drug makes things so much better; and the disclaimer is in a lower volume and buried w “may cause headaches, diarrhea, drowsiness, etc if you start thinking about suicide; stop taking it and call your doctor…

They also say, “don’t take this if you are allergic to the ingredients…

What are the fricking ingredients?

I thought you were on board with protecting the public?

Apparently I was mistaken

So you would agree you've also seen and heard the warnings for these drugs when advertised?

one more - weed was attacked so viciously because hemp rope was in the way of big profits for DuPont

And William Randolph Hearst owned significant stake in tree pulp production because of all of his newspapers, and wanted to be able to eliminate the possibility of paper being produced by using hemp fiber.

There is a direct link to the usage of these ssri uptake inhibitors and mass shootings.
The media has hid it for decades because the lobby is so strong that it can manipulate the reporting

Adding to that, the impact of violent video games and we have a nice recipe for a killing machine with little or no remorse.

RFK has a big target on his back

No I simply think this case it's not something we were mislead on. Doctors should be responsible to explain this to patients. Pharmacists as well. And it's on the ads. There are far better examples to draw on like the opioid scandal than SSRIs which already come with warning labels on the bottle as well just in case all the other checks in the system failed....

This is wild stuff of fantasy.

I take a half of the smallest dose of Effexor each day. 5mg

If I miss a dose, it makes me feel like hammered crap.

I work in a mental health hospital. Our EMR interfaces with “Doctor First”. We are able to access all prescriptions that any patient has had filled ant any pharmacy, along with dates filled”. The information is available through different platforms to prescribers if they check for it.

That doesn’t mean that they were the cause of the behavior. The more reasonable explanation is that the person had a behavior problem first, and attempts were made to find a solution to the problem - these drugs were prescribed in an effort to improve the problem.

No

That’s not what I am saying

The drugs have an in natural numbing effect which makes taking a life unremarkable to them. Without the drug numbing effect, there would be no mass killing.
