Just one of many reasons to loathe GWBush.

So is a heterosexual married couple, that cannot have children, that are raising adopted children not a family in your eyes?

Gay citizens should have the same government legal rights as heteros otherwise it's discrimination

So? We discriminate against polygamists and gypsies who want to marry their 13 year old niece. Again, we STILL regulate who can and can't get married. Somewhere along the line people (not necessarily you) have begun to believe that "discrimination" is a magic bad word that's always wrong and always unconstitutional, whatever that means these days. It's not.

and unconstitutional.

Legally, this is obviously correct. 5 people said it was unconstitutional so it is per the law. I don't think cultural moral norms are inherently "unconstitutional", and for over 200 years the rest of the country agreed. I think gay marriage would eventually have been passed the proper way, through the legislatures, but the end justifies the means for most of America these days.

Strawman
-Noun
an intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument.

Once again my statement was that two lesbians or two gays cannot biologically reproduce. Are you going to attempt to argue that two men or two women can biologically reproduce without the absent egg or sperm depending on which couple we are examining?

In-depth analysis probably does sound like “word salad” to you.

If it won’t fit on a bumper sticker, you are confused.

Not under this legislation, no.

It will help them sue and that’s why it’s bad and pointless legislation.

I have no issues with gay marriage but the only law that should be passed is simple..

The U.S. recognizes all applicable unions between two consenting adults regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation for the purposes of legal obligations

What does any of that have to do with marriage?

Answer this: Government issues marriage license so therefore marriage is a government right. Why should a property owning tax payer , that is gay, not be afforded the same legal rights as a heterosexual?

muh Bible.

The simple, sad fact is that a lot of Americans do not really WANT a secular government.

That's the problem; it's probably NOT pointless.

Anybody who thinks this set of Dems in DC is interested in protecting the Christian church from the cultural wars is seriously mentally deficient.

Nice to see Mr. "This is what the Bible really says." come clean, though. Confession is good for the soul, little buddy.

I thought I heard states still don’t have to grant marriage, just respect it if they were married elsewhere. Which would go along with equal protection.

If I was married in Vermont, Louisiana should still recognize I’m married.

But the federal government can just do what they did with the drinking age and refuse to give you funds for not complying.

Two women aren’t having sex and making a baby. But two lesbian women can get pregnant. They just find a donor.

Who's law are you referring to?

I'm actually more in favor of gay adoption than marriage as long as it's not from the state. I am a big advocate for parental rights and if you want to give your kid to perverts to raise, that's on you. It's not in the states's interests for perverts to be raising kids.

yeah, I'm for cutting most legislation, not adding to it.

We are already overly regulated.

The 14th was an abomination and needs to be repealed. If you want a state run by religious principles, it should be allowed. Just like the abortion discussion, we'll see how it plays out. Secularism is a fantasy of the French Revolution and we all saw how that played out.

It is the slippery slope.

Wording is left vague so a bunch of queers can make your life hell if they do choose. Like they did with the baker.
