My dear fellow, did you forget Texas children's hospital was ground zero for giving puberty blockers and hormones to pediatric patients and were only forced to stop due to state investigation and legal pressure? i.e. without that pressure they'd still be doing it?
So basically:
1) Yes, Texas Children's Hospital previously provided gender-transition interventions*** (Such as puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones) to pediatric patients, before state investigations and legal pressure forced the hospital to halt those services.
2) its something democrats actually do as opposed to fear mongering about stuff that literally never happens. They actually do this and the average person has no answer for it. Read about some kid getting groomed and transitioned in Maine and the parents tried to fight back, but they had no real recourse.
3) they're trying to appeal to nonwhite people. They're not trying to win the white conservative vote, they already will get it. They're trying to peel away people who may still be up in the air.

Talarico will not touch anything in D.C. that’ll make your kids trans. He will touch issues related to border security, your healthcare, and how much money you keep in your pocket every year.

I think this is part of the larger Paxton/MAGA issue this year.
They are selling to the rabid base who got Paxton the primary victory. MAGA red meat for the NPCs.
With the guy in MI it's the same thing, but with Muslim and "antisemitism".

Culture naturally moved on years ago. I posted some data this weekend where the instances of kids identifying as trans/non-binary are below 2016 levels today.
People may not care as much but it is useful to target because it shows what a psychotic freak he is. You cannot make make it all about that issue, but to highlight it is smart.

I'm not part of youth culture, but contemporary social conservatism often leads to youth culture rejecting it, so if I had to wager money, it was an extension of that.

I think you are way wrong about that. The trans issue is one of the vanguards of the Marxist assault on western civilization. It doesn’t amount to much of an impact when you consider the numbers, but it has an important ratcheting effect on culture. It should be soundly defeated.
In addition, it is a blatantly unfair thing that tranny men are allowed to compete in women’s sports.
