quote:

On Thursday, a group of Republican senators called for sending $1,000 payments per individual.

Those sums would go to both adults and dependents, for a possible total of $4,000 for a family of four.

quote:

Both adults and dependents would need to have valid Social Security numbers in order to receive the money. Under the bill, a qualifying family of four could potentially receive $4,000 — $600 more than they would receive under the CARES Act.

quote:

Unlike the CARES Act, this proposal would include all adult dependents, including college students and individuals with disabilities.

What good will $1000.00 do anyone? You still have to claim it as income and pay taxes on it next year....

If they wanted to do something real and tangible then they would fully deregulate medical insurance and give everybody tax credits to pay for your policy.

That would stimulate the population in general.

Why be cheap with $200 dollars? I don't get this money, but I'd be pissed if Republicans were nickel and diming these payments. It's a measure of how tone deaf Republicans are, especially during an election year. Who are they trying to impress with an exhibition of vacuous pomposity?

Did you read the post?

A family of four got $3400 last time. That same family would get $4000 this time.

Why stop at one $1000? Give everyone 100 $1000 and be done with it. This should get us through at least one year of COVID and no one has to work!
