According to the South China Morning Post, at least 43,000 of China's COVID-19 diagnoses were not included in the country's official count of confirmed cases.
The 43,000 figure reportedly represents "silent carriers" — people who have been diagnosed with coronavirus, but who also were asymptomatic.
"More than 43,000 people in China had tested positive for Covid-19 by the end of February but had no immediate symptoms, a condition typically known as asymptomatic, according to the data," the outlet reported. "They were placed in quarantine and monitored but were not included in the official tally of confirmed cases, which stood at about 80,000 at the time."
As pointed out by the Daily Caller, "China's failure to report asymptomatic coronavirus cases in its official tally goes against the World Health Organization's guidance that anyone who tests positive for the virus should be counted as a confirmed case, regardless of their symptoms."
At the time of this writing, there are 362,019 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the globe. At least 15,495 of them have died so far.
Additionally, the South China Morning Post also reported that at least a third of coronavirus cases could be "silent carriers."
Hiroshi Nishiura, an epidemiologist at Hokkaido University in Japan, said, "The number of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases worldwide continues to grow, and the gap between reports from China and statistical estimates of incidence based on cases diagnosed outside China indicates that a substantial number of cases are underdiagnosed."

So the lethality there is overstated by 50%?

The media will blame this on Trump, Hillary will agree, China will thank Hillary, then the Filth will parrot it on social media.

So this puts them at 120,000 total? That's nothing for a country that big.

I hope the world gets together and stands up against China for all the lying and manipulating they did. This could have been stopped with them if they hadn't lied. The powers need to get together and make them pay financially. More thank likely everyone will bitch out and act like nothing happened.

The point is you can't believe anything they say.

Perhaps, but perhaps the total deaths were understated too.

It’s a country controlled by the communist party. We have no idea how many people have it or have had it in China. It blows my mind that people invest in companies that are incorporated in China.

This is actually great news in the long run. Strange times

China's current nCFR is over 4%. So, it would make sense that they have a lot of "missing" cases.

Still don’t trust them. They’re probably lying about this too

Also consider the number of dissidents who never had the Chinese Flu but their sudden deaths were attributed to Kung Flu.

Is that all? You could multiply that by 10 and it still is not that significant of a number.... also reduces the mortality rate

The question you have to ask yourself is would we have taken the same measures (e.g. torpedoing our economy) again if we knew that the mortality rate was lower?
