Reparations activists insist 'true Americans' must pay out direct cash compensation
Reparations advocates insist that 'true Americans' must payout direct cash compensation, as reparations payments are under attack by the Trump administration and conservatives.

Victimhood fatigue.

I don't owe anyone anything. My family came over after slavery was abolished. They all can go pound sand.

frick that! "True Americans "? What constitutes a true American?
I'm as red white and blue as they come, but I owe zero to those racist gifting pieces of shite. Whether or not folks lime it or accept it, generally speaking, most black people suffer from a victim mentality. After generations of "victim " programing, they are different from white folks

Reparations were already paid when we allowed them to stay and continue procreating instead of doing what most other countries did.

O, they would never actually give their own money to the causes they pretend to fight for.

Wow. At the end the president of the freedman's association says they need $800K each in reparations to close the wealth gap.

Absolute insanity. Try working, saving and investing like us "privileged" folks have to do.

What I find funny is that many times, the people leading the charge for reparations, are not descendants of slaves.

But they came over to a country built by African slaves and didn't pay the $50 ($25 each) entry fee, so now, compound that by 160 years, without penalty, your great-great grandparents' family tree owes reparations of $11,137,068.28.

*fixed it

My Cajun ancestors were kicked out of their homes in Nova Scotia, loaded on British ships and shipped south to the colonies. My ancestor and his family remained in Chesapeake Bay on that British ship for three months (hint: the colonist didn't want them). So the British cut a deal with France. France agreed to take the Nova Scotia rejects. But that's arrangement in France didn't last long as they too didn't want the migrants.

Long story short, Queen Isabella of Spain (hint: I will never say one disparaging word about Spain) needed people to populate her possession in this new land (soon to be called America) so she cut a deal with France. She would take the rejects from Nova Scotia. We did extensive genealogy research and amazingly found the Spanish ship manifest with the names of the exiled Nova Scotians. There listed among the passengers was the name of my ancestor. But wait it gets worse. My ancestor lost his wife on that Spanish ship on that journey across the Atlantic.

Where am I going with all this? Even though my ancestors endured unbelieveable suffering and tragedy WE Acadians (aka cajuns) do not expect reparations from the British. Mainly because eventually my ancestors settled in this amazing place called Louisiana with its bounteous natural resources and sheer joy of life. And for the most part we still gather every Sunday in our Churches to worship the God of Abraham who helped us get through all the suffering.

Life gives you lemons - make lemonaide.
