A Republican member of the House Judiciary Committee was ejected from a closed-door impeachment hearing.

Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida on Monday tried to enter a hearing in which lawmakers from three different committees are interviewing President Trump’s former top aide on Russia, Fiona Hill.

Gaetz said he believed he should be allowed to attend the hearing because impeachment inquiries traditionally are handled by the House Judiciary Committee and he serves on that panel.

But the House parliamentarian told Gaetz he is not allowed to attend the hearing because he does not sit on either the Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, or Oversight panels, which are the official committees conducting the impeachment probe.

Republicans and Trump have criticized the impeachment inquiry for failing to follow precedent, which includes a House vote, referral to the Judiciary Committee, and bipartisan agreement on rules for the inquiry.

Gaetz has called for an end to the impeachment inquiry.

Schiff has now said that there is no need for the WB to testify. They will keep everything under wraps. Then say that the closed-door testimony confirmed the WB.

What a scam

Except for the fact that this is labeled as impeachment:

It would if this was truly an intelligence matter. But it is not, and never was.

From the linked article:

The House has yet to approve a resolution granting broad impeachment investigative authority to any of its committees.

So, the question then is, "are ANY Republican committee members present in that committee hearing?" If so, then he can get his feedback from others. He doesn't need to be there.

Sounds to me like he wasn't let in at all. Ejection implies he was there then got a Roughing the Passer thrown on him or some shite then ejected.

I dont think there are, but i could be mistaken.

Frankly, I think that republicans have a leg to stand on with the way this is being conducted. For Rs not participate at all weakens the Democrat's case, and makes it seem more partisan. BUT for Gaetz to try to enter, on what seems to be principle as he is not even on the committee, and then be turned away, gives some validity to the Democrats hearings.

How in the word does it do that? It absolutely has no bearing on the validity of the case. Evidence of a crime does that. Congress' word on that evidence also does not impact the validity.

Actual hard evidence. PERIOD.

So what GOP House members were in that meeting?

I'd like a list so that we can call their offices.

Im not talking about evidence, or a trial. How could I? I am no more privy to the info being discussed behind these closed doors than Gaetz.

I am talking about the political process of impeachment, and in politics, it is the perception that matters as much as the facts.

None. That’s just it. As if the Dems could not be more corrupt. “No Reps are welcome, we’ll do the interviews, we’ll let you know what was said” - dems

That can't be true. Democrats love transparency!
