The news comes after Republicans across North Texas called for the congressman to not seek re-election following the leak of a nude selfie taken by Barton.
"As a young Congressman, my slogan was 'listening to you in Texas, working for you in Washington,'" Barton said in the statement. "For me that was never just a saying, but a commitment - a way of life. Over the last 30 years, I have held thousands of public meetings and visited with so many great people in Texas on issues important to them. In Washington, I have voted over 20,000 times on the House Floor to hopefully make life better for the people in the 6th District."

married twice and cheating on wife #3 before they're even married...you frick tons of chicks on the DL and send them texts and photos, don't be surprised when this happens to you. also, this fricking guy has been in congress my entire life. we pay these people, they get all kinds of sweet perks and they only want to go to Washington for the party and the power.
he texted her not to do it and not by calling the authorities or saying it's illegal, but by saying he'd put capitol police on her...and didn't say he was worried about embarrassing his kids and grandkids, constituents, whatever...it could negatively affect his career
this is a guy who gets all the Christian and family groups to endorse him and was in favor of making sodomy illegal...frick this guy. And he doesn't even have the dignity to resign.
