Raso was a security guard.

Which didn't matter to the Third Circuit's analysis:

"Based on Griffin, it is clear that even though Raso was working off duty as a security guard, she was acting under color of state law: she was wearing a police uniform, ordered Abraham repeatedly to stop, and sought to arrest him."

Deadly force will only be considered reasonable, the Court held in Garner, when “it is necessary to prevent escape and the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others.” 471 U.S. at 3, 105 S.Ct. at 1697.

[quote]No matter how hard you try, the shooting will never be justified. A well-trained officer would at least try to de-escalate the situation…

1. He could instruct the driver not to move - done
2. They could order her out of the car -done
3. They could reach in for the keys - bad idea, it will get you drug by the car
4. Remove her from car - attempted

What else could they do to "de-escalate" ?

Lay fire until the threat is neutralized

In this case it was a deadly weapon so death was required for neutralization

No, and neither will Ross be...not even Minnesota is crazy enough to think they could prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

I know you're probably messing with me, but have you heard that? Did you hear the "bang twice on a pot to bring them in" part?

Several years ago a woman from Avoyelles Parish told me that her family used to use them for gumbo through the 1930s.

Not by the person she ran over.

For continuously failing to follow procedure? What an odd thing to earn a medal for.

Could have been at an oblique angle. If tissue is protruding from the left side the bullet traveled out that side typically. She probably had her head turned to her left on the first shot through the windshield.

Well said, but I think you meant she had her head turned to the right on that shot, exit wound on the left side. Minor niggle on my part but it shows she was listening to and obeying instructions from her lesbian master.

and no it’s not “sad”.

She was a bad person who supported illegal immigration and tried to run over an ICE officer with her car.

That's a good theory, but wouldn't they have noted a corresponding entrance wound?

In the real world, Some things can be managed without being admitted to a hospital.
