Lol. They're still around despite the Cajun ability to make a meal out of anything. Sherburne WMA and St. Mary Parish are the best places around the Atchafalaya.

Grew up in New Iberia and spend a lot of time in the Basin. I now live in Butte la Ros. I have a specially designed pontoon boat that allows me to spend the night on. I also have a 10' canoe that I take with me. Been spending 1, 2, and 3 nights there fishing and hunting. We are lucky to have the Basin.
