I'm not even mad at Trump for his efforts. I'm just laughing at the complete buffoonery of people that were claiming he ended the war when it was clear that this wasn't the case

I mean it’s not for lack of trying on Trumps part. I think he overestimated the resolve of both Z and Putin and didn’t realize neither give a shite at all about the lives it’s costing.

Trump facilitated a truce between India and Pakistan, and between Israel and Gaza. On the surface you’d think these would be more difficult than Russia and Ukraine because both Russia and Ukraine are Slavic while the others are between two different people that despise each other.

Trump was over confident but he has given a full effort to end it. I guarantee this and trade with China have been the most difficult negotiations of his life. He is stuck between a rock and a hard place, he wants to end it and save lives and the other two don’t care about that. If we stop support for Ukraine Putin rolls over them and takes the country. The war ends but we look weak and it will embolden Putin to go further. We could go to war with Russia but that risks nuclear warfare and is not a popular option among voters. Even with our support Ukraine cannot win they don’t have the manpower and Putin knows it.

I don’t know the answer. In my opinion there are only two possible strategies

1. Have a black ops team assassinate Zelensky and hope the new leader will agree to current terms to end war and Putin gets the territory he gained. Can’t assassinate Putin as that would cause escalation


2. Offer Russia terms that if they end war and give all of Ukraine back, they can join NATO, all sanctions lifted and trade opened with Russia. Try to bring them into the fold. I personally think this is the best idea, better to try to be friends than enemies with the other nuclear military power. Keep Russia out of Chinas sphere of influence and their culture and religious values align more with Europe and the West. The problem here is getting the rest of NATO to agree to it
