I didn’t read the thread, but don’t must Christians already believe in non-human beings?

Satan, Gabriel, Michael and such. What’s the name of that crazy creature thing in the bible? The nephilim?

Confused why blurry pics would cause religion to panic.

Even if these things are extraterrestrial does that denounce a higher being? I didn't know that. Just figure it's another part of creation that is not privileged enough to be human. God is bigger than the universe as a whole.

the Bible is clear. There are no other Gospels to come.

There was no "Bible" when the Book of Revelations was written. Each book or letter was written to stand alone. It was centuries later, it was voted on which documents should be combined into a Bible, meaning "books", and which should be left out.

John explicitly speaks about not altering his book of plagues and revelations. Such warnings were common among ancient authors.

I recall satan being an angel once and then cast out of heaven. Don't recall him being a "human-being", perhaps I missed it. As a child, I did not pay much attention.
Can say that the lefty protestors seem to be posessed by satan.

Simple salvation by the belief in Jesus Christ was not enough to save Satan and the other fallen angels as they too know and belief Christ is who he says he is. And still they lost their salvation through pride.

I don’t think they are held to the same standard. In humans we must have faith, because we have no “proof” in the sense that we can all see or talk directly to God. The angels directly answer to God. They don’t need faith, they have proof so their belief is meaningless. Satan and his followers directly rebelled against God and were cast down.

absolutely nothing will come of this except we'll see who is solid in their faith and who is blown around by the wind.

christ has already told you that the vast majority of you will choose eternal condemnation over eternal lives bc you choose evil over Christ. you think you are good but you are evil.

I never thought we were alone to begin with.

An experiment at best.

Bible is true and infallible. Trust in it…

Crazy how these revelations are always supported by the Bible.

The book of Enoch is not divinely inspired and is rejected by the early Church.

God is good.

In the end, we win.

You mean a book written by humans some 2,000 years ago will remain accurate? Is it even accurate now? Seems that ship sailed about 1,900 years ago.

Written by humans but authored by God.

Go ahead and support your claim so we can do a proper exegesis together.

And you trying to conflate the two raises even more questions

What would primitive man think of aliens coming from the sky other than "angels"?

There is much more evidence that intelligent life on this planet was engineered than there is for divinity.

As someone who was deep into that stuff over a decade ago, I have to say that Heiser's hermeneutic was non-biblical. He interpreted the Bible according to ancient near eastern religions and worldviews, rather than interpreting the Bible according to the Bible.

Not to derail the thread, but Heiser’s premise is that the Bible has to be read in the context that produced it (ancient Near East / Mediterranean). He wasn’t using pagan religion as authority, he was using ANE material as historical background so we don’t project modern meanings into ancient texts. He even says all other contexts (including later denominational traditions) are “foreign” and must be made subordinate to the Bible’s own context.

In his own “laws for Bible study,” his first principles are:

“There is no substitute for close attention to the biblical text.”
Pay attention to original languages / don’t rely on one English translation.
Look for patterns and networks in the text.
The NT’s use of the OT matters for how prophecy and interpretation work.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say we are the only beings created in the image of God. It does say he created the universe which covers....THE UNIVERSE.

Also, God has not stopped creating, and never will.

He RESTED on the 7th day. Rest means to take a break. It does not mean to cease entirely.

If anything, whatever revelation comes out will likely BOLSTER my faith, not shake it.
