Gotta destroy anything related to slavery or the Confederacy.

When will they demand that all plantation homes be destroyed?

Edit: For those who didn’t see it, Reynolds apologized for being married at a plantation in SC in 2012.

I was at the Myrtles the other day with my girlfriend and she was asking me why the mob hasn’t attempted to burn down a plantation home yet and I honestly didn’t have an answer for her. It’s gotta be coming

They stole or broke the State Historical Society Highway signs to some of these grand old estates in Alabama in 2016. Some of them were not replaced.

It’s kind of weird how they now sell mint juleps on the tours and Asian tourists are walking around slave quarters taking pictures giggling with a buzz.

I absolutely want my wedding at a Plantation. I want to live on one too. My dream home is a large plantation style home on 30-40 acres. Right now the plan is to build on ten acres but over time I'd like to buy land around us if possible to expand it out. Plantations are the shite.

I assume you mean a Neo-Classical or Greek Revival house? If so, I agree.

Because plantations aren't allowed anymore.

I’m actually stunned it hasn’t happened yet.

They’ve been going after the plantation homes for years now. Some have burned.
The tours are no longer about the genteel life on a plantation but more about the horrors of slavery. They’re a total bummer.

Go to Natchez. Many homes are no longer on the tour.
Check social media. People who glorify the homes for their architectural Beauty get shamed by the counter culture.

Houmas House plantation near Baton Rouge is perfect for weddings it really is beautiful. As long as you can live with yourself knowing it once housed hundreds of slaves

Combine all the plantation properties and manage them by the national parks service. Donate any money generated from tours or rentals to black scholarship funds. Reparations solved.

You do realize that most of these places are privately owned, right?

Why is this news?

Is he trying to promote an upcoming movie and that why he is apologizing for this?

Take the columns off, throw on some aluminum siding and wheels. Camouflage.

Had business dealings with the Guy that owns HH; told him that they would be coming. He's a fighter.

What he has done with HH is phenomenal; not that they allow changes in the House, but the grounds. Beautiful!

And via Government Grants they just finished a large Museum. He had plans for further expansion, with a Miss. River Dock just being finished...to handle the Cruise Industry.

The core Group of radical anarchists that are fueling the societal conflagration, are straight out of Orwell's "Animal Farm"; and re Sowell's "First Principle" argument...can NOT be engaged in political conversation. Per Sowell...the only 'debate' possible must be on the essence of the First Principle...which in this case, is the idea that ALL things should be engineered - by FORCE - toward *equality*. I.e., open 'border' for Heaven and Worldly Society, with no qualifiers or relative reward or punishment for Individual action...no accountability. No to 'Capitalism'. An insane recipe for societal suicide.

"There is a way the seemeth right unto Man, but the end thereof is destruction" (Good Book). The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

IMO, the God-based populous will rise up with their 'pitchforks' are declare open and all out violent confrontation on the Egalitarian, FASCIST Left. Many on the Left, do not even realize that the Ideology/Leaders of their Movement are indeed Fascist; but in the big picture, ignorance won't matter. Never does in the real world. Both Mother Nature and God always rule in the end. Fermi Paradox applying.

IMO. Get Jesus and pray for mercy. Unless you are one tough SOB. And even so, who wants to live a life minus Love.

Helluva Show.
