The number of employees truly vital to some very serious national interest is a tiny percentage.
Be it as it may, these 180 employees were called back for a reason.
Whoever made the call to cut them ought to be fired themselves. There needs to be accountability for government waste, mistakes, and errors This is what Trump promised. I don't care if the person that did it is a republican, democrat, or just a swamp bureaucrat. If you are too incompetent to properly diagnose waste, then you ARE the waste.

Question, displaced:
Why exactly are you so much more outraged at federal workers losing jobs than when private sector workers lose their jobs every day?
Every single day in America, people lose their job due to company downsizing, company going under, etc.
Why is that not a crisis, but federal downsizing is?

Not unusual in the business world. Cut too much and hire back what you truly need. Rough on the employees affected but it’s nothing new.
What kind of insane businesses are you involved in
This isn’t normal at all. You’re begging employees to jump to competitors

This happens in RIFS all the time dude
Literally all the time
When AT&T does it people don’t act like there have to be reparations for a war crime

Eh, progs have been doing this shite for a while.

It’s interesting that none of the pro government jobs proponents can outline when it’s appropriate to lay off government workers.

My point is just how warped non prog minds are on this stuff.

It happens in construction all of the time.

The reality is, none of these individuals such as displacedbuckeye and 4cubbies will be admitting they were wrong 2-3 years from now when the government is functioning just fine and the fired federal employees are now working in the private sector.
It’s net neutrality 2.0.

Better than continuing the same idiocy - but that is really the plan by the Democrap plan for destroying the American spirit. They want a dysfunctional overpaid gaggle of leeches who have no desire for anything other than a featherbed 'job' which provides them an excuse for not going out and being productive worker at a real job.
Those are the 'ballot markers' which Democrat campaign strategy relies on for their 'save democracy' idiocy.
This has nothing to do with democrats at all. Doge was going to eliminate government waste. I agree with that mission completely. It's a good idea, I don't understand why it's being done so callous and incompetently with so obscured and misleading transparency.

I’ve been part of several layoffs - delivering the news, offering the severance packages and even closing down entire locations.
When handled by professionals, it is handled with much more dignity and respect. You typically don’t have the boss running through the office with a chainsaw and posting threatening tweets on social media.

Think about how many people either work for fed gov or have spouses/family that work for fed gov. Some in here are true believers and some have a vested interest (Displaced worked for USPS).

Describe a well thought out / “competent” layoff of government workers. Thanks

Ones that fire/layoff employees at a rate exponentially higher than the federal government, clearly.
I'm not even sure why we're pretending this is unimaginable. Government is too bloated, large cuts are needed, mistakes will be made.
Progs are pissed at the mistakes and refusing to give pats on the back for the right call. They're just pissy that government jobs are being cut.

I don’t think 4cubbies grasps that jobs are a means to an end, not an end in itself.

You could cut it again, and then again, and the result would be the same.
I’m not really a small government absolutist, but this idea that there is grievous moral harm from making necessary changes to entrenched corruption and having to course correct in minuscule amounts is just loony tunes
