That's an excellent point. You and the rest of the folks on this board will appreciate MSNBC's Steve Kornacki's evisceration of the Clintons on their war hypocrisy yesterday. FOX News couldn't have done it better. Here's the link:

Wait, didn't we just do that twice?

Good point. But he's not saying he read the Bible. He just supposes what Jesus would say. Therefore, he assumes Jesus was the Son of God. That means he believes in the historical Bible. I find that interesting. I always thought Rand was Agnostic.

You don't have to be a Christian to believe that Jesus was a real-life historical figure who was a voice of compassion and kindness. Even Muslim's admire Jesus as a great prophet.

That doesn't exactly inspire me to believe anything about Jesus.

Which Republican are you talking about? I know for a fact that there have never been any Jews or avowed atheists elected to the White House.

You are missing my point about the Bible. If non Christians believe that Jesus existed yet they go on to say that x,y and z are his opinions on political issues, then those non Christians must believe the the Bible is true. Because the beliefs of Jesus's opinions on politics comes from the Bible.

Did Jesus just tell them shite in their dreams?

Not literally, I was just making a little reference to Obama being called a muslim and really in line with Wall St., and implementing a Republican plan (Romneycare).

Nevermind. My bad, no one is going to make the connection so it won't be funny.

Both are applicable, but where in to OP or the post I referenced is there any mention of the Iraq War?

I love his consistency in calling out hypocrisy on both sides.

It's not hypocrisy. Jesus said to turn and offer the other cheek to your enemy. Is that what we should follow, Christian or not? Jesus was not sent to save a nation but, rather, individuals.

Clinton, Reagan, LBJ, JFK, Nixon, Dubya, Obama...when it comes to war is there a bit of difference between any of them? There's not as far as I can see.

Message to Rand: Hey Rand...Jesus also said that "my kingdom is not of this world". I suspect that he meant that it's a kingdom of Spirit. You taking up the mantle of Parson?

If you want to be our preacher...that's a good sermon. If you want to be our President...then you are not hired to defend and promote the next world...but THIS NATION. Here and now. If you can't do that job without sullying your Faith...then don't run for the job.

So rape, murder and pillaging is fine with you? The very censorship and destruction of the WHOLE AND TRUE Gospel of Jesus by Mohammad's Ideological Caliphate? Turn our cheek and take martyrdom, would be your Presidential example? I'm sure all the young girls over there waiting for genital surgery, will rejoice in your victory.

We are all sick of war; it consumes the souls and energy of our BEST...while the slackers and heathen do their thing and could care less. But did not Jesus say that "he would not return in peace...but with a sword". There are things worse than war.

Stick to defending and promoting the Constitution, what's left of it. You're getting drunk. On power.

Had a lot of hope for him. But it seems he is on a self destruction path.

He is about to lose my vote.

Jesus, assuming he'd be relevant to any political discussion, wouldn't like Rand Paul shamelessly sucking up to the establishment like a whore to position himself to run for president.

Of course, Jesus did have a soft spot for working ladies so maybe he'd like rhetorical whores as well.

Interesting, could you give more details please. Not doubting you just a different take.

There is this thing called "accepting the premise" where a person can expound about a set of conditions without actually believing in their premise.
