Ol' Rahm wants to be POTUS so bad and is telling his party what it must do to hold onto power.

quote:

The top story from the 2026 cycle will be the electoral opening Democrats seized—and will have to maintain. Most important, the McCain-Romney Republicans, who are politically homeless, need to be welcomed into Democrats’ governing and electoral coalition.

Nearly a half-century ago, we saw this story play out in reverse. Working-class members of the New Deal coalition—the Reagan Democrats Stan Greenberg famously identified in his 1985 study of Macomb County, Mich.—walked away from the Democratic Party.

I mean, it is what they must do.

Had they started this after 2024, then 2026 would have been a bloodbath.

Their failure to do this is why 2026 won't be so bad for the GOP, despite Trump's insane unfavorability and how bad things have gotten under his admin.

I have not ever, EVER, seen a politician fill so many venues with 10's of thousands outside also attending than this insanely unfavorable POTUS Trump. But go ahead and make those who listen to you believe the favorable politicians are those who can not fill jr. high gyms so they stay in their basement.

Can you please share the list of “things” that have “gotten” so bad?

Personally, gas prices are the only thing that have moderately annoyed me based off expectations. But more of the same from the previous administration.

What’s the SFP list of “things” that have “gotten” so bad?

"Bloodbath? You can't say that." MSM to PDJT

Did you notice the less than 100 people to see Cackling Goose Harris in Michigan? The same for BHO and HRC anywhere they go.

But they are more popular than PDJT?
Maybe if you are watching MSNOW, NPR, CNN. et. al., and believing their propaganda including the polls.

But yeah, carry on believing and pushing the narrative the propaganda machine is pushing and never questioning anything except PDJT.

Trump’s not insanely unfavorable, but he’s not as popular as the Maga club thinks he is.

The other statement that poster made is the really ridiculous one. About “how bad things have gotten.”

The economy under Trump is entirely unremarkable when compared to every other president in my lifetime.

It’s far from the worst, and it’s not the best either.

It’s pretty middle of the road.

You mean the data from the pollsters who have shut down their sites due to the fake polls?

Americans are angry about...

What Democrats caused with the exponential spike in healthcare costs and less available, speedy, quality healthcare? Caused by Obamacare - zero Republicans voted for this. Cost of living has skyrocketed due to Obamacare alone...but it isn't the only thing.

Higher energy costs (which increase the costs of everything else)? Caused by Democrats for decades - go back to the 2000s and prior - blocking the building of new refineries, access to known energy resources and exploration for new ones, etc. Even very old elections where Democrats had won enough power to block badly needed policies still has consequences today. And we go back even further to 1979 and allowing the Shah to fall and the Ayatollah to take power - Democrats again - still causing major problems even today. Not to mention the energy policies of Clinton, Obama, and Biden that we will spend decades recovering from - the Keystone Pipeline is probably permanently off the table now thanks to them - Democrats again. Could go on and on.

"But Trump's been in office for two years" doesn't negate the long lasting, irreversible consequences of terrible decisions made previously.

Democrats - pursue disastrous policies, blame Republicans for their results, regain power, enact more disastrous policies, blame Republicans, rinse and repeat. If the Democrats do win this election, we'll be dealing with the negative consequences decades from now...just like we are dealing with the prior times they won elections.

I did not even mention the illegal immigration promoted by democrats.

Are you saying that it is insane to view Trump unfavorably??

Trump has saved our union from certain disaster had the HRC beat him in '15. By now we'd all be in - or headed for - a commune unless we yielded to be some sort of 'enforcer' for the 'leadership.'

IF we had anything close to a real media treating both sides with the same questioning and research the Democrat party today would not exist - they would long ago had to navigate back toward the center of the political spectrum. That's the way it was in my youth, then LBJ saw that his vision of 'democracy' would die out unless he created a new 'lower class' that could always be prodded into opposing anything the republicans wanted.

Trump, with all his personality faults, has almost single-handedly saved us from the disaster that Obama left us on the teetering edge of.

He deserves his own mountain.

Only gas prices have you "moderately annoyed"???

Are you one of those economic retards who only see prices at the pump and have no fricking clue that all time historic record high diesel prices drive up the cost of literally everything you buy, anywhere, in a store or online?

"Moderately annoyed."
