which if fricking laughable, to feel oppressed as a white Judeo-Christian male in the United States of America
Liberals don’t like people like you. They favor other races, sexes, and orientations.

My husband just got home from the airport. He somehow managed to beat all the odds and achieve success as a white man in America. Truly remarkable.
Good night y’all.

He “opted out” of more of your stuff?!
Overcoming racist DEI policies is a good thing. Too bad he married a looney lefty

not really...
i'm cool with diverse backgrounds being included for opportunities that they otherwise woudn't have access to... granted, i don't think its as needed anymore, as it may have been in the past, so yes, i probably agree with some of the opposition to DEI, but just judging by some of the responses, seeing some posters saying they would never even see a black MD, doesn't seem like DEI is reallly what some want to get rid of... they want a return to "the good old days", i guess.... i just find that incredibly sad

probably not... and that's ok...
i'm pretty disliked by a lot of people on the right, as well, apparently...
it is what it is... being an independent, i tend to get a lot of hate from both sides, so i'm kinda used to it, at this point

Let me guess, 4 chubbies was able to twist this around to something it wasn’t.

Who is this and what don't they have access to?

ahh, but it all ties in, to the need, at one point, for these sorts of policies being needed....
i do agree that they are less needed now, than they were, but i also see value in having framework and guardrails in place to ensure that we never go back to inequality ever again... i'm not sure i fully trust that that wouldn't happen if DEI was totally eliminated... now, should it be revised/amended/evolve to the needs of our current society? yes... it should always be amended based on current needs and if that means lessening it's effect, to swing the pendulum back a bit, then so be it...

“Black Doctors who actually earned their spot!
Thomas Sowell was against Affirmative Action because it created doubt in peoples minds about the accomplishments of blacks that actually earned their positions.
All that being said in my 35 year nsging career I saw some really really stupid white Drs.
Covid exposed how stupid some of them were, there were Drs I thought were good that fell for that bullshite hook, line and sinker.
There is one in particular, had excellent reputation. He lost his mind over Covid, was wearing masks and making his staff wear masks long after everyone else had quit,I’m not talking about N95’s.I would have thought he knew cloth and surgical masks weren’t going to stop a virus.

I'm joining this thread late so maybe I'm missing something.
I thought you posted that you're not for preferences. It's only about opportunities, I assume for equally qualified candidates. So what's the pendulum that might need to swing back the other way?

You are so lost:
DEI = inequality.

No access because of why?
lack of merit? Skin color?

Blame the left for that as DEI forces people to not trust the merits of a person who possibly only got a job because of their skin color.

correct... i guess really what i'm more concerned with is the possible discrimination that can result if there aren't policies in place to protect against discrimination, for various reasons, for various groups....

So what's the pendulum that might need to swing back the other way?
the policies and oversight to ensure that everyone is getting a fair chance... i realize that it could possibly over correct to where whites would be at a disadvantage vs. everyone else, and if that would happen, then reassess and correct the overcorrection... i'm guessing this may be where i will differ in opinion from others here, possibly including you, but i just don't think we've been put at a disadvantage, nor do i really ever see that happening, considering we still make up a large majority of the decision makers that enact these types of policies

Imagine not getting a promotion because you are white. Liberals use DEI like that. You seem so misled and naive.
