If something is purely merit based, would that satisfy your desire for an equal playing field?

I'm not just talking about skin tone, but sex, wealth, family connections, everything not critical to ability being eliminated for special consideration. Pure, blind merit.

Is pure merit, in your opinion, an equal playing field?

So you’re here in 2026 using skin color to judge and make life decisions

You’re a racist bud.

yeah, that's more or less what i would have in mind, and in utopia, that would exist.... but in reality, you'd be naive to think that we would be able to trust institutions to operate independently and adhere to this... it would NEVER happen, and before you know we are back to discriminatory practices all over again...

maybe that's what my main gripe or concern is... not trusting that our institutions can be trusted to do the right thing when it comes to true, unfettered equality

How about admission information stripped of name, sex, race, relation, etc... and just focused on grades, interests, skill sets, abilities, experience?

It would be a very simple thing to strip certain criteria from forms submitted for consideration.

I get the utopia argument... but IF it could be so, would this match your desire for a pure system?

DEI is…..

Racist against whites.
Sexism against men.
Orientationism against straights.

There’s all kinds of discrimination. We once had an obese Director of Nurses, excuse me Vice President of Patient Affairs.

Anytime there was an opening for a management position if the applicant wasn’t obese they weren’t getting the job. After she had been there a few years every nsging supervisory position was filled by a big fat heifer. It actually was funny.

I was a victim of discrimination myself. When I graduated Nsg,school the Director of Nurses for one of the local hospitals wouldn’t hire males because she was sure they were all gay or drug abusers.

It’s happened to many people when racist liberals with white guilt are in charge as DEI is about equity, not equality.

You clearly have white guilt like liberals do.

True.

But maybe Chrxis isn't as dei as it seems... he sounds like he favors the premise of equality but is worried prejudice would take over in a different way were there not "protections" in place.

I disagree with his worry... but I don't think he’s 4cub style of "inclusion".

I could be wrong, but that's how I'm reading him.
