The animals know what's up.

We just need some righteous pigeons to sh*t all over them next week to really be the icing on the cake.

Hey, that lady was pissing off the raccoon. She had to be taught some respect.

I've got raccoons in my yard every night.

Me too. I only get mad when they make the dogs bark or leave trash outside the garbage cans. I've tried tying the garbage can lids shut but they chew through plastic tops to get to the garbage. So I've compromised with them. I added an additional can to the mix that way the garbage stays low and they stay in the can and eat leftovers keeping all of their mess in the can.

I've never had a problem with the garbage can but then mine is one of those big tall ones, very heavy. My dogs are indoors at night so they don't bark.
Another good critter in my yard is armadillos. They come at night digging for grubs and end up aerating my soil and helping my lawn since they only scratch down a 1/4 inch.

That is simply not true.
You can always find an exception.

For instance, a big male will fight like Hell when you corner him with a half-dozen dogs.

That little fellow looking for a snack on the White House lawn was not being aggressive. He was just mooching. Same with the kayak. He wasn't after that girl ... just her snack bag.

I had a mama raccoon take up residence in the soffit of my porch overhang. Somehow, she pulled down a piece of the cover. Anyways, she had two little babies up there with her. We watched her for weeks, then when we were sure she was taking the babies out with her to eat every day, closed up the hole one night while they were out. They were confused when they got back home and there was no door. I actually felt sort of bad for a bit. They still come around looking for scrap cat food, but don't live here anymore. Dogs couldn't care less about them. As in.. "you want us to chase what?"

My Ridgebacks don't seem to care much about raccoons, either. But they purely HATE opossums.

Dogs know that coons are the spawn of the devil.

One costed me $1000 in vet bills.

That costed the coon his life. We had a chat and agreed that I would give him one night to move on. He broke our agreement and got the pew pew pew.
