1. Iran was receiving increased ballistic missile and drone development aid from China and Russia.
2. In part because of the aid from China and Russia the production rate and sophistication of Iran’s ballistic missiles and drones was increasing exponentially.
3. The rate of drone and missile production in Iran was quickly outpacing the production and deployment of interceptor systems by both the US and Israel.
4. Iran’s strategy for acquiring nuclear weapons was to appease the US on nuclear development while producing an arsenal that would have eventually made a military strike of Iran’s nuclear program too risky.
Conclusion: the window for stopping Iran’s nuclear development was quickly closing and Trump was simply following his promise to keep Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

Fair enough questions. So I'll ask: was Trump privy to Iran's nuclear capabilities before he was elected? And FTR, IDK how advanced they really were in nuclear arms.
Iran's Shia stuff is insanity and they should not be allowed to bring nuclear weapons to the playground. Someone has to stop them.

But no MAGA supported his "no new war" policy but also wanted to go to war with Iran. So again, your question is to nobody. Maybe just ask supporters of the war why they later became convinced to do so?

I was not a fan of the Iran escalation.
Once the decision was made it left only 2 paths, regime change or a bad deal.
Although we are in the Schrodinger’s cat situation as far as the outcome, it looks like a lean toward bad deal.
But it certainly looks like Iran’s nuke plans got pushed back a few years. So, that’s something I guess.

I know plenty of MAGA that were adamant about No New Wars during the campaign but immediately flip flopped as soon as Trump started a war.

I’ll take a shot. People thought that if the intel suggested that Iran was advancing toward a nuclear weapon, Trump would surgically stop that effort, NOT do the bidding of Greatest Ally and waste time and money and political capital on this schitt.

I don't think most wanted to go to war with Iran, nor supported it. However, since I guess you thought this would completely turn everyone against him en masse, I don't know what to tell you. He's still a great POTUS. Even if we don't like the Iran thing.
