I'm no fan of either Russia or Ukraine, but since FJB has decided to put the defense of Ukraine on my great, great, great grandchildrens' credit card, then I guess I'm on Russia's side.

News reports are that they are calling up 300k reserves. This will be right as the weather is turning colder in Ukraine.

I'm shocked that it's taken this long ! All that tells me is within the inner workings/agreements of this conflict, that someone has renigged on an agreement. Perhaps Biden, Zelenski, and all other parties involved should have negotiated better terms, or honored the terms they initially made !

The thread didn't melt down about that. In fact, I was the one that responded to you and said the exact same thing that the number was inaccurate and even if it was the chance of having photographic evidence was slim given the whole war crime issue.

As today's news highlights, the Russian military is not itself particularly intimidating, so this kind of saber rattling is Putin's most effective kind.
DPRK learned the lesson well.
But if you see Putin say "we need to conscript" you know the ground forces leave a bit to be desired.
