These people are very sheltered.
No military experience here so I'm not claiming any expertise but this seems like something more fitting for special ops teams than a massive ground invasion. I know we've done extractions of hostages before but nothing on this scale to my knowledge. I don't even know if our state department knows where all these Americans are, which makes it really hard to go get them. As you said, this is already FUBAR'ed, I don't know if it's even possible to broker some sort of temporary amnesty to get Americans to the airport. That does nothing for the US-friendly Afghans either, I don't see the Taliban negotiating anything for them.

The second bullets fly, regardless of if they are coming from a Seal Team or the 82nd Airborne, the whole dynamic on the ground changes, and all of our people in the country are in extreme danger.

They are in danger anyway.
Civilians are at the mercy of Taliban going door to door and having checkpoints on the street.
Anyone at the airport is at the mercy of the Taliban deciding that it isn’t in their interest to mortar the frick out of the runways or the US occupied portion.

How exactly do you proposed to do that. The United States has an agreement with the Taliban, the military really shouldn't even be there.

Agreed Teke, they are certainly in danger now; however, if we break into combat with the Taliban, they will be in mortal danger immediately.

10 minutes after we see the first images of American's being dragged through the streets of Kabul, 1 of 3 things SHOULD happen:
1) Biden and his entire administration should resign
2) The 25th should be invoked
3) Impeachment proceedings should spin up
Unfortunetly none of those will happen, Biden will blame it on Trump.

I honestly don’t see how Biden survives this. Now people are realizing “Oh shite we don’t live in a vacuum and there are people out there who want us dead. Maybe we should stop shooting videos with drag queens at the White House and focus on shite that actually matters.” The red pills being shoved down peoples throats right now is unbelievable. If we see an American being beheaded, there’s going to be an actual insurrection this time that will make January 6th look like the LARPing it really was.
