I'd wait for him to leave, and then squat in my own house

I don’t understand how it’s not simply trespassing and just arrest his arse
Not that simple in some states, unfortunately. Squatters have some rights in those places.
I'll never understand it.

99.99% sure she voted for the party that enacts this lunacy. Elections have consequences. Squatter rights are stupid but don’t feel bad for her.

Had this problem. Let the local swat team use the building for training. Needless the guy ran for the hills.

I assume there is nothing legal filed by the squatter. Once you show up and the locks are changed and you confront them and they claim squatters rights, why can’t you show up later, break your key in the door “not knowing the locks were changed “, break a window to get in, because your lock was broke. Then when they show up, and walk in, shoot them in the chest and say they were attacking you. Problem solved!

Sounds like a Second solution is in order.

She had both turned off. Was forced to have then turned back on.

I'd be wiling to bet that in Chicago, you would not be allowed to do that.

Eviction process should only apply to renters, not squatters.
Squatters should be handled the way Tony Soprano did so in Newark.

Sometimes it offers a permanent solution.

Saw this just the other day. It works perfectly. The guy was smart too. He went in with Ring cameras and mounted them everywhere. The key is that the squatter has to leave the house at some point so you have to stake out the place.
