What exactly are you getting at? I said it was a lot (ie very generous) but also not a lot (presumably active duty people get more than $100 per pay period).

What the frick really is your problem?

It’s pretty incredible to think about the hundreds of billions we send to other countries and NGO’s and a private citizen has to pay our military.

If this came from Qatar, thanks Qatar. The UK, France, Germany etc should be ponying up the same kind of cash too, if not more.

Now, that's an even better look......a foreign government paying out military personnel because our government can't.

He’s not. If Elon tried to get his money he would have to pay taxes on it, so he’s probably worth about 79% of what they say he’s worth.

$130 MM for 2.3 million US military personnel. $61.90 each…gas money to report to work and still not get paid 2 weeks worth of work.

You didn't have to tell us all you're stupid. LINK

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that a wealthy private donor has provided $130 million to the U.S. government to cover potential shortfalls in military salaries caused by the ongoing government shutdown.

Trump previously stated unspent R&D funds would be used to pay the military, so this just represents some or all of the shortfall after those funds.

It would take $3.45 billion to provide average take home pay of $1,500 for each personnel. $130 million is rookie number. Means nothing especially from a billionaire. Probably bought a “get out of jail card” or expects a favor in return.

Exactly.

There’s 2.1 million service members. What the hell is the point of this? Is this board as retarded as I hope it isn’t?

The person rich enough to be doing this is probably the equivalent of me throwing $10 in some UNICEF can.

Poor thing? It’s weird that you’re so defensive over $130 million donation when it’s actually nothingburger. Looking at your username and post number, not gonna worry about what you have to say. Weirdo.

There there little guy. It'll be okay. Eventually you'll get over the military getting paid.

That you scoff at $130MM. I don’t need $50, but I’m not gonna toss it to the side if it’s handed to me.
