re: Press Secretary Sean Spicer says Hitler 'didn't even sink to using chemical weapons'

quote:I always thought he projected nervousness, irritability, and general discomfort up there. He's had some good moments answering questions, but he's pretty bad at just extemporaneously putting points across. Definitely the worst Pres Secretary that I remember. Apparently one of Clinton's early ones was bad, but I don't specifically remember that (I was like 9-10). Bush and Obama never had a bad one.
He's clearly terrified on stage. I'm sure he wants to project trump's way of dealing with things but it doesn't come natural to him
Thus we have the most cringe worthy answer a press secretary has ever given to

Probably not great that this happens on the same day it comes out that Trump's entire family skipped the White House Seder.

The spokesman for the president of the United States should know better.
1) You have to attack the press and be antagonistic every day. Pretty much what Trump and Bannon want.
2) You have to spin the ridiculous tweets of POTUS and put them into a reasonable policy. This happens almost daily.
3) You have to handle marching orders from Trump and Bannon. Day 1 he had to go out and argue about crowd sizes. I give it better than even odds that comparing Assad to Hitler was a brainstorm from Bannon or Trump.

I agree, particularly with your second point. I don't think anyone can be an adequate press secretary with Trump on twitter in the middle of the night.

"He (Hitler) was not using the gas on his own people ..."
Um, the Jews were German citizens. As were the disabled, the gays, and others from Germany who were sent to the "Holocaust Centers" as Spicer called the Concentration Camps.
The correction only made it worse. Whose people were they?

Despite the fact of family and his cabinet being full of jews everywhere.

All very interesting none of that explains or justifies or even is related to what a stupid thing that is to say
I'm glad he said it though. fricking hysterical

I dont disagree. shite on Spicer for being a moron who sucks at the primary function of his job: PR.
Don't shite on him for thinking Hitler never gassed anyone in ww2

Has Spicer commented about Trumps tweet blasting Obama for not getting congressional support over bombing syria, yet he didn't.
Has Spicer commented on Trumps golf outings and how much its costing Americans?

Yup but while trying to project trump's bravado
This he's a stumbling bumbling mess and if anyone disagrees wait until you read what he said about hitler

I was a big fan of Pierre Salinger (JFK). I got to chat with him when he came to speak at Centenary College after his retirement. In his later years he became a conspiracy kook.

Spicer has been a trainwreck since day 1. No idea why a guy as media saavy as Trump hasn't cut him loose yet.
He seems like a good guy. This job is just not for him.

You're about to get a zany anecdote of the time Zach shared a scone with Churchill's son in law

I'd rather hear about what nationality his local Starbucks store manager is this week

And, this also means that Spicer was not talking about "the battlefield" because he admits that Hitler did in fact use gas, just not on his own people. He used them on the Jews, Gypsies, disabled, gays, and others he didn't want to be part of his "Master Race."
So, again, whose people where they?
The whole thing was just a disaster. Even the 3 corrections were a disaster.

This is Spicer putting his foot in his mouth
IMO, that one should cost him his job.
