Unless JD has ever been whacked by a nun with a ruler, he can't call himself a true Catholic.

Catholicism involves physical pain and suffering....and lots of repetitive writing.

I don't get this. God and Jesus are all-powerful, omnipotent, omniscient. There is no need for an intercession. They do not need Mary or saints acting as secretaries passing messages to the boss. God knows what you want before you ask, so why is an intercessor needed to lobby on your behalf? Just talk to the Big Man directly. You don't need a chain of command.

The Real Immaculate Conception is on March 25. Count 9 months after that date. (from The Mystical City of God) written in the mid 1600's by a venerated nun dictated to her by the Blessed Mother.

you ever get in trouble or have issues with your parent and go to the opposite person when you feel bad or need to talk because you don't feel comfortable going to the person you are upset with? It's not like the other parent isn't going to know about this meeting, but you still feel the most comfortable talking to that person.

Kind of like a question I asked earlier...do you ever pray to the other entities of the Trinity in prayer? I always find myself talking to the Father, rarely Jesus or the Holy Spirit. I know they are all one, but distinct...yet I still choose to talk directly to the Father.

Some folks are different

There's a lot of nuance there, though, that is needed, rather than saying she was "sinless." Which goes into the entire problem of why veneration of Mary is misinterpreted.

The intensity of your vitriol is going to make the beauty of your conversion sublime like so many of the saints who were converts.

I’ll pray for you and ask Our Lady and Saint John Henry Newman to pray for you also.

You people really have no understanding of who God is or how he operates.
This explains why you don’t understand Catholicism because you don’t understand God.
Why did god send Moses to free the hebrews, he is omnipotent and all powerful he didn’t need Moses.
Why did God send Jesus to die, he could have just forgiven us for having faith without the crucifiction.
Why did he tell Moses to make a bronze statue of a snake and have people stare at it to be healed, he could have just healed them without making that graven image.
Etc..etc…
Do you not know the story of sodom and Gamorah where god said he would spare the city just because Abraham asked him to.

Paul prayer for others. That is also called intercession
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy.” – Philippians 1:3

Here James says that prayer for others can bring healing. This is also called intercession
“And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.” – James 5:15

Paul asked others to pray for him. This is also called intercession
“Brothers and sisters, pray for us.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:25

the Catholic Church's worship of Mary.

The Catholic Church itself says we do not worship Mary. She is honored and venerated. Not worshiped. Do you not honor your mother?

Imagine that, a Christian POTUS mentioning Mary. Obama didn’t (Muslim). Bush, Clinton, Bush didn’t (Satan)

Not sure this is a necessary message from the WH!

Actually it's particularly appropriate today.

The Immaculate Conception is the official feast day for the United States.

[embed]I think the Pope recently emphasized that she is NOT a co-redeemer.[/embed]

This isn’t quite right. The church does teach she is coredemtrix or co-redeemer as you’ve said. Simply put, this term just means she fully consented and thus participated in bringing out Gods will by conceiving the Son of God in her womb and giving birth to Him.

I think people are confused by the definition. Christ the Son is 100% the Lord, Savior, and Redeemer of mankind; some Saints just participate in it. Saint Paul could be used as an example as one who participates as he wrote most of the New Testament.

She was a good woman, but she was not sinless. Even she said that God was her savior. If she was sinless she wouldn’t have needed a savior.

She says God is her savior, yes, because she was saved from the stain of original sin because she was conceived immaculately.

She technically is not redeemed because she is not bought back from the slavery of sin and death.

The church teaches she was immaculately conceived and lived a life without sin. She is the New Eve and the New Ark of the Covenant.

Read Genesis 3:15, the end of Revelation 11, and Revelation 12.

Intercession just means one person praying for another. The Bible says in several places that we should do that.

What it does say is that there is only 1 mediator, Jesus. A mediator tries to resolve a conflict between two parties.

No. Roman Catholic but I love my Eastern brothers. That and I try to use the original texts where I can to make a point to the Prots.
