Too denomination-specific for me
It’s about the Feast of the IC which is today. It kind of is a denomination specific holy day.
If you are a Protestant and your particular sect doesn’t participate, just ignore it and roll on.

“I don't understand the Catholic Church's worship of Mary”
No truer words have ever been spoken.

Melania Trump is a Catholic. VP Vance is Catholic. This was a very nice proclamation. If people don't like it too bad. There have been many proclamations from the WH.
I think it is great.

If a member of your church falls ill, does your church official ask that the congregation pray for them?
Following your logic, your preacher is praying to man.

Yes, Melania Trump is a practicing Catholic
She was raised in a Roman Catholic household in Slovenia and has publicly acknowledged her faith, including attending church services and participating in Catholic customs during her time as First Lady. Notably, she was the first Catholic to live in the White House since John F. Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy.

She's not my Blessed Mother - she's the Blessed Mother.

Their response is you don't pray to dead people

Wow! Just Wow! The President of the United States pays homage to Our Blessed Mother.
My Saintly Mom would have been thrilled for sure.
Dei Mater, ora pro dilectissima patria mea et Praeside. Amen

I guess the but but but she is mediator between man and CHRIST JESUS not between man and God. This would be to deny the Trinity of course, but while we're being heretical... wheeeeeee
and the immaculate conception is pure unbiblical nonsense. so of course we have to place the "church" and its own machinations above scripture to reach that conclusion.
this is but one reason the Romanists aren't really that much more "Christian" than the magical underpants donners.

yes, we pray to God for that person.
side question, are prayers delivered by Mary or a saint more effective than our praying to God directly?

Probably, see James 5:16

No, some people just feel more comfortable talking to our Blessed Mother or Saints more than God/Jesus directly.
Take some time to think about this, when you go into prayer. Do you always pray to God? Or sometimes to Jesus? What about the Holy Spirit?
Each person has their own ways they've developed their relationship with God in prayer or through prayer.

I don't understand the Catholic Church's worship of Mary. She is not sinless and she is not a co-redeemer with Christ. It is silly and misguided.
If you're not Catholic your opinion of the Catholic Church means nothing.
You are outside of it.

Jesus, from the cross tells us "Behold Your Mother". This is what we do. Likewise, Mary beholds her children. John 19: 26-27. This is not just a message to John; it is to all of us.

As all monotheist Christians who aren’t syncretic pagans do.
And “the saints” includes the entire body of believers. Not some necromantic demiurges.
The fact that we even have to have this conversation shows how demonically entrenched the false church really is.

Then they are fundamentally wrong right out of the gate.
For the gift of Christ is eternal life.

I see I got some catholic panties in a wad. I have definitely witnessed Catholics and the catholic church setting up Mary as an idol. She is a sinner like anyone else, but she was key in the fulfillment of the virgin birth prophesy. Mary's savior was her own son. Appeal to god, not Mary.

How does a sinner hold baby Jesus in her womb and why was she greeted as "hail mary full of grace"? (Among other things)

Luke 1:46–55 My soul doth magnify the Lord. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. Because he hath regarded the humility of his handmaid: for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. Because he that is mighty, hath done great things to me; and holy is his name. And his mercy is from generation unto generations, to them that fear him. He hath shewed might in his arm: he hath scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart. He hath put down the mighty from their seat, and hath exalted the humble. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. He hath received Israel his servant, being mindful of his mercy: As he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed for ever.
Do you call her Blessed?
