If Republicans are going to pass great future legislation in the Senate, they must immediately go to a 51 vote majority, not senseless 60...
...Even though parts of healthcare could pass at 51, some really good things need 60. So many great future bills & budgets need 60 votes....

Quickest way to single payer down the line would be to do this. Dems will never get 60 Senate seats to pass it but with this all it will take is a liberal trump and a 51 seat majority

Republicans seem not to have learned from the mistakes Democrats made over the last eight years.

I'm shocked.

I'm fine with this.

The filibuster is and always has been stupid.

Just because it might cost my side doesn't mean I think it's OK to keep it.

The Founders didn't setup the 60 vote threshold either. Not sure what your point is

Founders put in a lot of checks against the Tyranny of the majority...the filibuster was not one of them.

Return to the pre-1974 filibuster. Easy solution. Let's not act like the filibuster in it's current form is some venerable institution that we can't live without.

I would be ok with eliminating it on everything but Supreme Court nominations. That doesn't have the check of going through the house and is kinda a big deal.

that would be amazing for the Democrats whenever they finally take over the Senate again

You looking forward to this? Thinking about the future? Cool yes?

Oh please drama queen.

Our nation wasn't built assuming a filibuster and the Senate, by definition, is a bulwark against the "tyranny of the majority". Ya know. 2 from each state regardless of population.

Sheesh. I said that it's a dumb idea and I'm perfectly fine with it dying even if it costs ME........ya know. So, I'm not just all about myself. I realize that this is a strange concept for a lefty.......but it really can exist.
