I'm not sure if this is trolling or if you are this naïve. "They should use" doesn't mean they actually will. They could use the money to upgrade the infrastructure now but they don't. Even with record profits. They know there is an issue. I can't think of a place that doesn't have rolling blackouts. They seems to be waiting for a gov handout in order to make improvements.

Welcome to reality. You sound ridiculous.

True as true gets...what they will most likely do is increase executive salaries, increased dividends to share holders and increased bonuses to key personnel. Why would they not when they know damn well we will eventually give them the money because we will have no choice? Yet another way places like China has it all over us...only a small number of billionaires skimming the till in China....heaping piles of multi-millionaires doing it in the United States.

It is not, however, a major detriment, at least not in any data I have seen.
You should look at more data.

Our grid can't support the cars they have right now. It will only get worse. I bet Biden's power isn't in the 60%

How dumb is Biden and his illegitimate regime?

Imagine announcing this grand plan to end fossil fuels for land based travel and forgetting to expand and upgrade the nationwide power grid to handle the 100% increase in power grid demand......and as a bonus, no plan to harden the power grid against sabotage or a coronal mass ejection from the sun.

It’s not Biden. He doesn’t know what’s going on. This is all Obama s post America plan. All of everything you see is orchestrated by Obama

Or TX as I believe they control their own grid. Though they need to tell the FEDs to get bent with pushing their "environmental" garbage.

That's the most sensible answer and I don't even care if it has to be subsidized.
nuclear is impossible to build now. Prohibitive regulation. It’s the obvious answer but it won’t happen

I would posit I look at more than most people do seeing as part of my 40 year career is based on power generation and electrical theory....

But I would like to see some data if you have any....seriously not being a smart arse. I am very interested and would like to read the data you based it on. It sounds plausible....

There is plenty of renewable energy in Texas and it's not because of the feds

The up front cost of building coal fired plants is very cost prohibitive. Natural gas plants can be built cheaper and the fuel is also economical which gives it a favorable operational cost. Now you don't have to wonder

There is plenty of need for both natural gas and coal that's economical. If there wasn't that need then why are we building expensive solar and wind?
However, no one invests in building plants that the govt will shut down. And that's what will happen in Democrat rule.
Now you know.

There is a larger desire for natural gas due to costs and hence why it eclipsed coal on the grid about 7 years ago.

Solar isn't as expensive as you think it is. Believe it or not some article you read in 2002 is no longer valid.

Make no mistake, they’re not doing this because they’re stupid or even delusional. They know exactly what they’re doing. They know exactly what the consequences for the country will be. And that’s what they want.

Yes, but gas is not enough to meet demand. Coal is the next best economic choice if we had a real free market.

What a bunch of BS. Do you realize how much tax payer money is needed to subsidize solar?

It's currently cheaper than coal power without any subsidies.

No, it's not. But just for fun...why does it get subsidies if it is cheaper anyway?

Because for a consumer that is looking to throw some panels in their house it's a lot of money up front. I don't think rooftop solar makes much sense but utility scale solar is helpful. And yes it's cheaper than coal.

That is about as far from the truth as Biden being competent and not corrupt.
