A strong European Union is in America’s interest. That's why yesterday, I met with @CharlesMichel and the @EUCouncil to revitalize U.S.-EU relations, as we partner up to combat COVID, tackle the climate crisis, and ensure democracies rather than autocracies set rules of the road.

Sure is Joe.
By the way, how much taxpayer dollars will this little endeavor cost us?

What am I saying? No price is too high to ensure this.

What did he say that is wrong? Of course it is in America's best interest to have a strong EU. Just as important is our relationship with NATO.

Everything that you just said is inaccurate. Neither of these are in this country's best interest.

How does this statement apply to the EU?

The middle and working classes of America subsidize European welfare states because we pay for the defenses they themselves should be paying for. We do this because it's essentially a taxpayer subsidy to defense contractors and the MIC.

I don’t disagree with you. But pretending that there is just absolutely no benefit to NATO or our defense arrangements with Europe is dishonest.

Wow, there is a desire to ignore history and everything our country has learned from close relationships with other like minded democracies?

There may be a benefit, but it isn't to 99.9% of American people.

Reminder that American isolationism did nothing except cause us to go into two world wars entirely unprepared to do so. It did absolutely nothing to keep the peace or save us money. Nothing at all.

Besides, it’s no longer practical. We are the most powerful state in the world. Our currency is a global reserve currency. There is no avenue to clam up, and there hasn’t been for a long time.

Do many of our alliances need restructuring and more input from our partners? Yes. But pretending that we don’t benefit from having allies and from being able to forward position our military half a world away is pure folly.

We are not a party to the Rome Statute, and the United States doesn’t accept the jurisdiction of the ICC.

WW1, WW2, WW3, probably, but I don't see Russian tanks plowing through the German countryside anytime in the near future.
Nuclear arsenals have made invasions or direct attacks upon so armed states a thing of the past.

The EU is a totalitarian project, that empowers bureaucrats and steps on the rights of ordinary Europeans. Europe is better off without it.

NATO, NATO should have been disbanded when the wall fell.
