thats not the question at hand.

Why weren't the numerous other folks who trespassed in that house confronted and killed?

Post the link to that video or article that discusses that video.
I affirmatively LOOKED for this alleged video ... or even any legitimate reference to it.

No video online that I can find.

The reporting indicates that someone matching his description (and identified by his family) WAS taped entering a house under construction, looking around, and leaving without taking anything. Was he scouting for LATER theft? Maybe. But that seems to be the extent of anything caught on video.

Didn't arbery try to take the man's shotgun and was then shot? If someone tries to take my gun and I shoot them, that's self defense.

Hard to say. The video from the trailing vehicle is blocked by the chassis of the McMichael family's white truck.

The white truck was stopped in the middle of the road, and the son (the one with the shotgun) was standing in the road on the driver's side. Then the video shifted to the side, and we lose sight of the encounter just as we begin to see Arbery veering to the right to pass on the passenger side of the white truck.

The next thing we see is the son and Arbery struggling with one another (and the gun) near the front of the truck.

Did the McMichael son approach and accost Arbery, or did Arbery just randomly rush a guy holding a shotgun? The video does not answer that question.

The man exited the driver’s side of the truck and raised the shotgun towards Arbery. Arbery then veered to the left and attempted to pass the truck on the passengers side. When he did so the shooter came around the the front of the truck towards Arbery.

Be for real dude.

I absolutely acknowledge that this is indeed happening in our current climate. However, in this case it actually fits. I stand by that assessment until someone can answer why Arbery the only one of the numerous 'trespassers' that was chased down and confronted.

We do not see most of this on the video from the trailing truck, but it DOES seem to be the most logical extrapolation from what we ARE able to see. (except that Arbery veered RIGHT to the passenger side of the truck)

But there are also inconsistencies.

If I am Arbery, and I pass this truck full of rednecks on the passenger side, I keep running along the right shoulder of the road. But when we again see Arbery, he has passed the truck and is directly in front of it, engaged with McMichael. I don't see that McMichael would have had time to get all the say across the front of the truck and to the right shoulder, so it ALSO seems reasonable to infer that Arbery left the shoulder and moved across the front of the truck on his own.

Some people in this thread have already read this and are going to parrot it to others when they have a conversation about this subject, and its just not true. Not even a little.
You and I and everyone else need to be more responsible for the shite that comes out of our mouths.

He had been fleeing their pursuit up and down two streets. His previous actions indicate he was going to continue to flee. Regardless, they had no authority to use armed force to detain him over a misdemeanor which they did not even directly witness.

I appreciate your honest assessment -

I think for Arbery, he was forced into legit, basic, primal fight or flight mode, and he chose incorrectly.

I mean, so is “get shot by random guy chasing you with shotgun.”

When you chase a guy with a gun you’re already out of the self defense argument.

I get that. My point still stands. This is what whoever the hell is running things in the office thinks is most important at the moment it was tweeted on behalf of the President. It's insanity to me.
