Wearing DIY masks is mostly a feel-good measure. According to this, the coronavirus is 80-160nm, which is 0.16 microns. N95 masks filter 95% of particles 0.3 microns or greater.
The DIY site telling people they can use tissue paper is the like telling kids to hide under desks to protect themselves against the A-bomb.
Considering how a lot of people have reacted to the coronavirus, I have serious doubts that even 20% of the country can construct an effective mask. Would the police be going around to check if masks can actually filter the virus? No, they would just look to see if some kind of cloth was covering the face. Again, this is just a feel-good measure. Most people would not have masks that can properly filter a 0.16 micron virus.
But hey, as long as we feel we're doing something, right? Effectiveness isn't as important as appearances.

Out of 2200+ People at my work, I am one of the 3 who can't telecommute.
All 3 of us are required to wear masks while at work.

Like rioting and burning up shite without worry of being arrested and prosecuted for it? Yep, we lost that freedom since Trump's been president. Funny though how those things haven't happened while Trump has been the boss, kinda like we're hearing less of terrorism in this country also. You can wear whatever you want on YOUR property. In public , you’ll wear what’s required to keep the public safe. The problem is this Eric Cartman Mentality of “I can do whateva I want” that many Americans think is their Right! Well your wrong.
