He does realize that most of the Canadian crude from Alberta makes it's way to ports in the East through the US, since Canadian Greens stopped major eastward expansion of pipelines through it's own country?

Do we have the plants to produce the power? I honestly don’t know but this should never happen. Build plants and produce our own power.

Sounds good, do michigan first!

Overkill. He could just make a 25% tariff on it. That’d be the appropriate response. He announced this a while back too.
Trump surely knew this was a possibility and has a workaround lined up.
Now that they’ve overplayed their hand we should never buy their energy again. FAFO.

Remember when Trump said the state of New York should have allowed that gas pipeline from the Marcellus to reduce the cost of energy for the entire NE?????
Hmm seems NY should have considered it.

What exactly is a premier? Wasn’t that a communist party title……
Escalation is a bold move. Let’s see if it pays off..
I think we rename Canadian bacon to ham…..

Don't care. This sounds like a progressive Yankee problem.

go ahead. If we rely on power from canada that is a national security issue that needs to be remedied.

Canada exports power to the Northern US, if they don't export it to us who will buy it and what will it cost to move it to some other country that's not your neighbor ?
This is a bluff.
AI Overview Canada primarily sells electricity to the United States. In 2023, Canada exported $3.4 billion worth of electricity, mostly to the U.S.

If not and he cuts off power in winter with temps still below freezing in a lot of places, seems like an act of war as people will def die.
This is off topic, but I hate that this is what people are reduced to in modern civilization. 100% dependence in corporations that answer only to the government, just to stay alive. We are mankind, who survived millennia without power or refrigeration, through countless wars and colonizations, ice ages, droughts, famine, pestilence and many other natural hells. Yet now, we have created our own biome of total dependency on others.
I'm proud to say that Mrs. Axe and I would sustain indefinitely if our gas, water and power were cut off in the middle of winter. Not saying it would be like a "not miss a beat" comfortable scenario, but we damn sure wouldn't die even in subarctic temperatures.
People in general need to be prepared for the worst, and also be prepared to help sustain others who didn't bother to prepare for the worst. This bubble that we live in called "civilization", is incredibly fragile and fickle.

Don't think for one second that fat frick in Canada isn't being coached by the same traitorous DNC/Neocon cabal that met with Zelenskyy before his white house meeting with Trump the other day. fricking traitors and they need to swing from the gallows.
