Guess we’ll never know for certain until we get an autopsy report & a name.

Since I can't sleep... my youngest daughter took a fatal dose in our home. She is only alive today thanks to someone outside the home calling 911. We were awaken just after 1am by a trove of emergency vehicles ... when told, I couldn't bring myself to go to her room, for fear of what I would find.
This daughter was the greatest gift, short of salvation God had given me. And the world wanted to take her away.
Fortunately, they arrived in time.
Today, she is much better. Not suicidal, she says someone in her her head told her to keep popping pills.
There is another thread asking a out whether the world was better without the internet. Related, I would almost answer yes. The same young friend who made the call (16 yo) had just been told by a young man online, to kill herself.

ETA: Now that I'm awake and type on a keyboard, I wanted to finish this thought for me mostly, but everyone who reads.
As I mentioned, the internet. The daughter was depressed, sleeping all the time - counseling hadn't helped. Covid took it's toll with the last two years of high school. I just saw a friend of my daughters, a recent grad of Bama (RTR) and I thought of this incident. Some flourished during that time, my daughter didn't.
It would have been better to take the iPhone away from my daughter and face the consequences, than what happened.
After the incident, she was confined to a psych ward for some time until released. The door came off her room, the cabinet with meds had a lock on it for a year, etc. She wasn't a kid who acted out, just one who didn't seem to care.

I know this though... After the incident... I heard electronic sounds coming from her phone, in an electronic voice (I was 20 ft away) which repeated stated 'kill yourself' at 1am. I happened to be up while she was sleeping. Never found the source. No messages, ringtones, audio files were found and I had the phone for over a week. But I know what I heard.

An ex girlfriend of mine took 8 extra strength Tylenol about 2 years after we split up and had to have her stomach pumped. It caused permanent liver damage. She died at the ripe age of 33, it was of natural causes according to the coroner but her mother insists it was from when she took the Tylenol, it just took a few years to kill her.
Not my opinion, just stating what her mother believes, but I do know it's a very dangerous medication in moderately high to high dosages.

Same. I have neither and still won't take it. But I don't take ibuprofen either. If I'm in so much pain I can't stand it neither one will be any help anyway. And if I have a fever - good, that's my body using its own defensive mechanism to rid itself of a virus. I will take antibiotics for a bacterial infection, though.

Tylenol is a drug that I use probably weekly but I am very cautious with, I knew someone who really hurt themselves (unintentionally) with it.
It is not a drug to be messed with and with how common it is people really underestimate what it can do to you.
I honestly hope these stories are fake or exaggerated because I would not wish what happened to my friend on anyone, for real. Tylenol overdose is brutal.

Yep, this is a terrible way to go. It takes about a week to 10 days to die from the massive liver failure. Not a pretty sight at all. If one wants to commit a painful, drawn out suicide, downing a bottle of Tylenol is a sure way to do it. Darwin's theory strikes again.

Certain opioids have acetaminophen in it like Percocet. Addicts were dying of liver failure from the acetaminophen.

I’m really happy to hear your daughter made it through that.
I volunteer with a small group of 12-15 year olds once a week. We were chatting yesterday and I mentioned how I can’t imagine what going to high school is like with social media. Their faces all fell and said it’s hard. I asked them when they got their first phones and they all said 6th grade.
