This is insane. So we are going to let a small percentage of the population determine what a definition is.
Words have meaning and they don't change.
Preference doesn't necessarily mean you made a choice to like or dislike something. You can prefer something naturally without making a conscious decision.
I hate sweet peas. That is not a conscious decision I made, it is something that for me was not a choice. For me I have never liked the taste. So if you ask me if I want some sweet peas, I'll tell you I don't like them and I prefer green beans.
My preference was not a conscious decision. This is a ludicrous argument by the left to change definitions to trap an individual and smear somebody.

If you believe that sexual attraction is voluntary, I can certainly see how you might see the term “sexual preference” as being more-accurate as a description.
If you believe that sexual attraction is innate, I can certainly see how you might see the term “sexual orientation” as being more-accurate as a description.
But I am at a loss the understand how either term could be “offensive” to any rational person.

Anyone offended by "sexual preference" needs to grow some thicker skin and act like a damn adult.
The word "preference" by it's nature does not assume or imply a conscious choice.
I prefer sangiovese to merlot. That's not because I made a conscious decision to prefer one over the other. My tastebuds and olfactory senses just happen to make one more pleasing to me than the other.
