Chinese manufacturing comes back to the United States right after Mexico pays for that big, beautiful wall and "millions and millions" of Mexicans are deported (snort laugh).
On the subject though of all those manufacturing jobs. Who's going to want them? It's largely unskilled labor. The non-union wage for jobs like that is about 17 or 18/hr.
That's really a rhetorical question. Those "millions and millions" of Mexicans Trump won't deport will want them.

If I were in China’s shoes I would be looking for opportunities with the rest of the globe to purchase what the American market is expected to shrink by. If they can get most of that covered they’ll be in decent shape. We won’t entirely shut them out, we can’t right now, and won’t be able to for quite some time.

Exactly how it did in his first term, when Trump came at China and forced their hand in negotiating a better trade deal with us. All the libs and TDS nerds, news pundits etc., cried then about how stupid it was for Trump to pick this fight, he was going to destroy the economy blah blah blah, just like they are now... A few weeks later, China relented and came to the table, agreeing to a better trade deal with the U.S.. Trump did the same with Mexico, Canada etc. We went on to have one of the best economies and strongest job markets this nation has ever seen.

I didn't say the American media can be trusted, they can't, but they will absolutely echo how Americans are displeased. If shite continues to go south, you'll see that displeasure first in polls and then at the voting booth.
I fear the lack of American tolerance for discomfort is going to greatly disappoint this board.

No, it wouldn't. It could still mean moving some mfg back. All the Panicans keep talking like everything is all or nothing. You keep pushing the narrative that if all mfg is not returned to the US, then Trump is a liar or failure.
Anyone with common sense knows it was never going to be all mfg. You communist China supporters just don't have any valid arguments left, so you have to try to poorly reframe the narrative in a last ditch effort to save face.
We've seen it many times before. Trump wins, but his detractors try to claim it was not a victory based on some lame technicality they pulled out of their asses.
