Pre-DEF Truck that has been deleted. would you purchase?

Looking at a 2016 Ford. Deletion involves egr elimination, a tuner, and muffler work. Supposed to be worth a 25% increase in fuel efficiency . To be used in rural south texas so inspection not an issue.

I’d you never have to get it inspected in a place that checks emissions…..

If in good general condition, I wouldn’t hesitate. The delete is worth the price.

The diesel Fords are maintenance and reliability nightmares. Hopefully the deletion of all the emissions stuff changes that. I imagine it reduces complexity a little.
But the previous owner was clearly the kind of guy that likes to mod his truck. Which IMO is a very bad thing especially for a naturally compromised vehicle.

DEF = Diesel Exhaust Fluid
Every Diesel engine built after January 1, 2010 is required to use def to lower NOx emissions.
