CostCo has stores in Mexico? That seems like a risky investment.

Have you ever travelled more than five minutes outside of your little podunk town?

Half of this board live in places where random robbery, carjacking, assault, and murder is commonplace.

We are in Puerto Vallarta now. Were in the Romanica Zone last night and all was well, noticed a few police check points on the way out of town armed with machine guns but didn't think much out of it. We are about 3 miles away, noticed the fires this morning while having breakfast on the beach but didn't find out what was going on till later in the day. They are trying to keep you from leaving the resort but the resort is business as usual. Just left the pool where we have been all day and getting ready for an early dinner.
Worried about our flight tomorrow. We are not getting much news so keep me informed on what is happening...

Tourists are killed in the United States by gang and drug violence as well.

That’s a bit different than an all out war, shooting up airports and hotels.

I was in Mexico in 2004 and that was enough to make me never want to go there again.

t's a shame the cartel ruined Puerto Vallarta

Glad I went back when it was safe. It's such a beautiful part of the world

I have been there a lot for vacation....and Punta Mita and Sayulita.....this is definitely scary and would be a bad situation to be caught down there

Was in Cancun a for the last snow storm and took a tour to swim with sea turtles that was about 40 miles away from the resort. Lots of American and international brands and chains all over the place.

Forgive them, war makes them horny and they were hoping it was sister-in-law.

This is an understatement. We may annex the entire region when we’re through with our response and dare the Mexican President to stop us if Americans are harmed on a large scale.

That would likely be Grenada II.

This is a different scale, but Mexico has never really given an effective shite.

Those all sound like bystanders hit by stray gunfire, not targeted hits on tourists. Mexico needs tourists and would strike back against the cartels if they endanger that cash cow.
