Stop being obtuse and read up on SVB and Signature, particularly the exposure they both had to startups and crypto.
Signature's issue was cryptos
SVB's issue was literally US Treasuries. Explain to me how those are "risky"
Were mistakes made? Obviously, but risk wasn't the culprit. SVB was fine with deposits and assets. They just had a bank run. No bank can survive a bank run

This, of course, after the retarded pedophile blamed Trump for this happening.

If it was someone in office you liked you would be all "he knows what he is doing, etc, etc". They all say the same bullshite. What the frick you want him to say "We are fricked god damn it! Everybody take all their money out of everything and operate on nothing but cash for awhile!", but I am sure the politics board is discussing this so why post this shite here?

I am confident that the taxpayers are on hook where the asset liquidation falls short.

No dumbass. SVB was fine. They sold off some assets to cover expenses. It's the investors making a run that started this. VC is not our problem nor should be cover it.

If it was just that, this is just a series of unlucky but understandable decisions amid the record pace of rate hikes....and that means far more banks will fail.
But that's not not what put SVB into a particularly precarious situation.

SVB didn't fail because of its balance sheet
They had a bank run. No bank on Earth could survive that.
This is a psychological crisis, not a financial one.

The good thing to come out of this is that there's pressure to slow down rate hikes from the fed.

If you really want to get very specific, I'd say that Peter Thiel sounding the alarm really accelerated the run at SVB.

What was he supposed to say? We are all fricked, everybody should withdraw everything now?
It's more a matter of how he usually says the opposite of whatever is happening, so we may truly be fricked.

If we reigned in our OOC fiat monetary system then yes, any bank could survive it.

And he was reacting to the bank's sketchy position with questionable loan practices, over-exposure to silicon valley startups, and rapid growth several years ago before rates went crazy.

You know what's funny, I was on IG yesterday and was reading comments under a post about Jeffery Epstein and there were people claiming republicans are the ones that made it easy for rich people to get away with being pedophiles. And there were people agreeing and adding on to the talking point.. And it was just obvious they all watched or listened to the same bullshite.
Same goes for people like you with this bullshite. Propaganda within our own government is an enemy to the citizens of this country.
