Your raging insecurity tells us both that it is definitely a pervasive opinion of you. I can't imagine, man. I'll pray for you.

Only been laid off once, company was sold off, new company retained only the physical and financial assets, everyone was laid off..... Was given 6 months severance, so I took a couple weeks off to go fishing then back to work for another company.... it's called life outside of being self-employed.

This, coming from someone like you, means exactly nothing.

Worked construction, job ended. Younger years, got a better job. I once quit a job twice.

I worked for FedGov from 1989-1999. I was working on really cool stuff until the end of the Cold War. After that I got put on projects that weren't interesting but were stable. I couldn't handle the mundane and quit. I went into the private sector.

I was there 3.5 years and then got laid off when the company pissed off my customer and they cancelled their services. I went with another company about 9 months and left because it sucked.

I then landed my dream job and have been here 22 years.

shite happens for a reason.

Yes. Downsized more than once in my life...The first one was the hardest. I had sold my car after getting a company car, which they then cane to pick up after FedExing me a pink slip..no job..no income..no car..

I feel for these folks but they are not terminally unique line they think they are.

Nah. Typically, the folks who spend the most time crying about the deficiencies of others have some serious holes in their lives.

I hope you find what you need to fill them.

Right here dude. I have, from Schlumberger. Later this year, I will again but with a VERY generous severance package, and will take a few months off.

Twice. It was just business both times and while it sucked I wasn’t bitter about it or even mad. Simply went out and found a better job both times with more pay. That’s just life. The smug and entitled attitudes these government workers have is pitiful. frick them.
