Well what a surprise. All it takes to see how a mail-in voter voted in the CA recall is to shine a weak cellphone flashlight through the back of the envelope.

quote:

Suppose you wanted to use this tiny flaw in an otherwise *perfect* election system to throw out the ballots of people who voted the wrong way. What would you do?

quote:

You would probably push hard to encourage voting by mail. You’d push to extend the voting period for weeks in advance of the election. And you’d push to allow ballots to come in for days afterwards (it’s 7 days in California!)

quote:

If one corrupt person can check one ballot manually every 10 seconds, that’s 360 per hour, or 2,880 per day. If the election voting period lasts *4 weeks*, then one bad apple can process 57,600 ballots.

quote:

But that sounds like a lot of effort! What if four people worked just *one* diligent 8-hour shift, flashlight-sorting a pile of 50-50 votes?

That would be 11,520 ballots processed — more than the official margin between Biden and Trump in Arizona, for instance. In one day’s work

quote:

Now, CA may be exceptionally incompetent and unusually corrupt.

But exploits like this exist. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to you.

Mass mail-in voting for mere convenience is insane and we should not tolerate it.

Your headline makes it sound like this was a mistake. It’s a feature.

If I was FORCED to live in Cali or Somalia, I'd have to start researching my options for high speed internet in Mogadishu.

I was curiously trying to think of what CAGA stood for before the edit.

It's OUR country!

We the people!

The majority.

It doesn't belong to a handful of communist thugs.

They get nothing.

This would be a great time for a few good judges to walk into counting rooms and insert their own poll watchers. The reservoirs in California would fill up from the sweat pouring off the corrupt democrats.

I live in California and have been observing this board for a couple weeks. It's a little concerning to me how much Tiger fans seem to care about California.

We have our problems like everyone else, but most people, left or right are good, decent, people who just want to live their lives, raise their families. Most Tigers who came to the Rose Bowl left having a good experience. Not your cup of tea? No worries.

We're in a pandemic and California is doing waaaaaay better than Louisiana by every metric. Maybe California should be a little more like Louisiana in some respects, but maybe in regards to science and focusing on the common good, Louisiana could be a little more like California and we'd all meet in the middle.

AKA, do whatever Herr Fauci says and do not question him, no matter how many times he contradicts himself or flip flops

According to you leftists, the "science" is code for whatever will help advance our tyrannical political agendas

Also your governor and president are importing infected illegals in by the gross... doesn't the science and common good say shut down the border? I thought we were in a pandemic?

I lived in California during the 2020 COVID peak from March to August. The day I finally left, August 24 2020, was one of the happiest days of my life. The draconian California lock downs were some of the most miserable, lonely days of my life. It boggles my mind how leftists like you want MORE of that to save yourselves from a virus with a 99.9% success rate

So you support an obvious avenue for corrupting the election process.

Why am I not surprised.

So, SB...if California decides to invite the CCP to open a Military Base in Ca., that would be no threat to the folk of Louisiana?

You sound like a nice person, but if one follows the logical political and Ideological progression where your State is going, and listens to the openly professed intent of the Authoritarian Socialist Left in DC and across the Nation...is sure as hell raises red flags to those of us who believe that our Rights come from God, and not a Majority Vote. Or the whims of Elitist Intellectuals who believe they know better how to form our children's minds (Socialism), than we do.

We'll get through it, and be better for it.

There's no convincing someone that vaccines are saving lives if you are set on digging in your heels. A better approach may be, hey, I am not a public health expert, maybe we should listen to those that devote their lives to studying these issues. Maybe it's okay to understand that the science will evolve as we learn more (e.g masking after we learned the virus spread via air)... and it's okay pivot when new data comes in. it's not a sign of weakness, it's not a flip flop. It's a sign of intelligence.

fewer people are getting sick and dying in areas with high vaccination rates - fact.

more people that are vaccinated the less the virus spreads - fact (breakthrough cases are statistically lower than those unvaccinated)

the overwhelming majority of all medial professionals recommend all eligible get vaccinated. fact.

Stop listening to those trying to politicize it. They aren't doing you any favors.

Marxists are not good or decent "people" (using that term loosely).

Pot, meet kettle. Your post reeks 100% of politicization.

Because career politicians and bureaucrats like Fauci totally aren't trying to politicize it, our politicians and bureaucrats only care about serving the public and doing what's best for the people... they are totally NOT political, and have no political agendas, they just want what is best for the people

It's crazy how much Californians actually believe politicians and bureaucrats give a shot about the people and public service and actually believe they are not corrupt self serving cretins.

People like you who believe our politicians are our betters and can do no wrong and are elected to rule instead of serve is a major reason I left California. I don't want to be ruled by tyrants like Newsome. I guess low testosterone cuckolds like you do. The biggest pussies I have met were California males.

Show me one peer reviewed control group study that shows masks work, or that they work in classrooms

Like Israel. If vaccines work, why are cases higher now then they were a year ago when there was no vaccine?

Look in the mirror. Those on the left have done nothing but politicize everything from the start so save this holier than thou shite for those that have not been paying attention. They have lied repeatedly and people have died because of it. Your state is holding a recall election this very minute because the Governor is a scumbag socialist.
