Your facts are lies. Deal with it.

what is the lie? Saying it's a lie doesn't make it so- that's the whole point.

Evidence? Nobody believes the big lie anymore except those that put party over country. I'm no Biden fan, but the facts are he won fair and square. Not one shred of evidence to the contrary has been presented.
Personal attacks vs. attacking the facts of what I'm saying. Even Barr, Trump's handpicked AG is calling it BS.

Keep making the personal attacks if you want - it's pretty juvenile to do so, no? - the facts and history will not be favorable...happy to have a thoughtful conversation- any evidence to support your views?

“I accept the finality of the outcome, which will be ratified next Monday in the Electoral College” he said. “And tonight, for the sake of our unity as a people and the strength of our democracy, I offer my concession.”

"Disturbing in the sense that I saw actually zero basis for the allegations," he said, "but they were made in such a sensational way that they obviously were influencing a lot of people."
he can say whatever he wants. He chose to run with the stolen election stuff without a shred of proof and inflamed his supporters to believe the big lie. They marched to the capitol and broke in, destroying property, assaulting police, attempting to disrupt what had happened for 200 years- peaceful transfer of power.

Watergate was small potatoes compared to this. Baffled that people would put party over country and not want him to be held accountable. Patriotic Americans should not want anything less than holding him responsible for the death and destruction that never would have happened if he would have behaved like Al Gore did after a tightly contested election and graciously accepted the decision- even if he vehemently disagreed with the outcome.

Still not one person disputing what Cheney presented.

Cheney's opening statement

Posted by SBBruin28 on 6/11/22 at 2:53 pm
You don't like the January 6th committee for some reason. Well, we're all eager to hear you point out any factual errors in Liz Cheney's presentation. Any at all?

Truth is there is not one thing that was presented that is factually inaccurate. Trump knew his claims of a stolen election were B.S. - just like his attorney general and chief of staff told him. Yet he continued the lie because his ego can't handle losing. And millions of his minions ate it up despite no evidence, 60 court challenges laughed out of court. He knew the racist Proud Boys and Oath Keepers would continue to eat up his lies and he didn't care what happened to democracy, rule of law.

Again, can you point out one thing Cheney said that is not true?

Progstains invoking the Christian way is always funny.

Not even Christian..just calling y'all on your hypocrisy - you know that love for your fellow man, taking care of the sick, the poor.... Those pesky tenants the man you believe is your savior espoused?
While it is time to start talking about removing mask mandates, and yes most children/young people are not at severe risk, there are those that are immunocompromised like this sweet girl that are at elevated risk. It's a worldwide pandemic that has taken 900,000 lives in our country alone. Masks have created safer conditions in schools for all. But nobody said this is easy, everyone hates masks. But let's have some compassion for those that suffer and wanted to do everything they could to protect each other. Ain't that the Christian way? LINK
But were you clutching your pearls when Reagan did it? When Trump did it? If you did, great you are consistent and not hypocritical. But if you didn't then just be aware of your own confirmation bias.

And my personal take- appointing a qualified black woman is good for our country-- representation does matter. Do I wish he would have just done it without the promise to do so? Sure. But that's politics and there are examples from both political parties.
Reagan did the exact same thing when he vowed (and then did) appoint a woman to the Supreme Court. So there is precedent for tipping your hand that you plan to appoint a member of an underrepresented population. Not sure why this is such a big deal. Having a Supreme Court that reflects our diverse nation is good. It's not like there aren't qualified people of all races/background to pick from.

There is evidence. You just won’t look at it. You actually continue to believe the media after they lie to you over and over, on every major topic. You can’t be any dumber

I'll wait here for you to provide it. But I'll be waiting a long time as there is none. Seriously, provide it and convince me. But what there is proof of is Trump begging on the phone for his republican election leaders to 'find him 11,000 votes.' He said that's all he needs. That my friend, is evidence of someone trying to commit voter fraud.

What a fricked up political party. They refuse to use merit to determine the suitability/qualifications of a candidate to fill a position, it’s all about pandering to secure the loyalty of certain voting blocks.

And when Reagan did it to shore up female vote in '80? Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't he a republican?

The senate in Georgia was stolen just as blatantly as the president. I hate how everyone focuses on Biden stealing Georgia but completely ignore 2 stolen senate seats

Put up or shut up - no proof. I mean really, it's so infantile--- to yell cheating with no evidence--especially in a state with a republican governor and election officials running the entire show. It's like me trying to whine that Trump stole the election from Hillary. Saying it don't make it so. Although with the popular vote way in her favor there's more credence to that argument.
Um. Didn't Ronald Reagan promise to do basically the same thing when he vowed to appoint a woman if he were elected in 1980?
LOL-- they don't work against this strain- what more evidence do you need when even the drug companies are making that point???

Probably could if both parents were in the household...or is that not the case where you are from?

Yes mostly two parent, Catholic Hispanic family households. Most just aren't educated and work 2-3 jobs so kids don't have the resources/supports that others do. The original question was do I think IQ is racially -determined. The answer is no.

When you can't debate, you resort to name calling. The electoral college is surely something to question. How is that un American?

You got to be kidding. I said a 'legit' source not some hyperlinked fox news cited bs.

This is truly laugh out loud that someone spent time compiling such garbage!

Anyone who thinks retard turnip Biden was legitimately elected is a liar or a retard. Which one are you?

A majority of Americans do not have faith in the current system. We need to make elections more secure. Ban electronic voting, ban absentee ballots, ban same day voting, etc.

Besides name calling, can you actually cite one legit source /reason that he was not legally elected? All I hear from people like you are ad hominem attacks but as they say in Texas, 'all hat, no cattle.' I can name call too but come here trying to learn and engage... come on man, debate, cite some sources, bring your best argument to convince me that he truly won the election.

Same day registration is a non starter for me, as in mail in voting, unless it follows the absentee rules. Also add in a valid ID. Amend the quoted statement to include these things, and I’m in.

I agree. ID is totally reasonable to verify/certify. If we make IDs free (not needing to pay at the DMV to get one). If that's the case, I'm in too

It would make it ripe for election fraud.. That was already proven in 2020.

Saying it don't make it so. Name one proven case of wide-spread voter fraud in 2020. Not talking about the random Trump supporter voting illegally LINK
quote:

You seem like a reasonable person. do you believe it has created a chasm in IQ? And do you think that needs to be addressed?

No and study after study has debunked Eugenics.

What I believe is that poverty and trauma are hard cycles to break. And I agree that the family structure has exacerbated those issues. I work at a large high school in California where the white students (largely middle/upper class) significantly outperform Hispanic/Latino and Black students (predominantly socio-economically disadvantaged)--- and it comes down to the same issues- the white students parents have time to make them study, know how to help with homework, and have high expectations. The Hispanic/Black work multiple jobs and struggle just to get by so they can't provide the same supports as the white families. Doesn't mean they are less intelligent, but the cycle is hard to break for sure. So if we address poverty, and also shift how we educate (a long story that I'll skip for now), I think that's the answer.

Hey - why not just put a bushel of ballots out on public tables every day - then anyone who passes by can grab one and drop it into an official tally box.

Everyone has to swear they are who they say they are - and they only voted once - and the were really registered where they voted.

easier for all.

If you are registered to vote and your signature matches your ballot, why does it matter? The entire state of Utah (and others) vote by mail. Do you think that's a bad idea? Funny how conservatives used to love vote by mail until they realized that making it easier for all to vote (legally!) would harm them.
Absolutely,

I understand and respect the conservative focus on personal responsibility. I, and many, respect the idea around secure borders (without the sometimes blantant racism). I agree that we need to support the police, cut red tape for businesses, and support families.

But I also believe that income inequality needs to be addressed. I believe that since we didn't give freed slaves their '40 acres and a mule' and instead inacted horrible Jim Crow policies for decades, that systematic racism has created the huge chasm between white and black wealth and that we owe it to them to address.

I believe that it's insane that we spend so much on health care but have shitty results that bankrupt too many and that our society would be much better if we adopted/copied the successes of Norway, Sweden, Denmark - the countries that always show up at the top of the happiest countries in the world.

In short, there's a lot to learn and respect about each other-- and a lot that drives each side crazy. that's why a third party is necessary.
Explain, thoughtfully, why any of these things is a bad idea?

"The voting rights bills would have expanded voter registration with automatic and same-day registration, increased access to the polls by expanding early and absentee voting, and created new criteria for determining which states must receive pre-approval from the Justice Department or U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia before enacting laws that would affect voting rights."

Let's be real. Republicans don't want everyone to vote. They win when fewer vote. They win because the Electoral College is a ridiculous byzantine way to determine a president. There was no voter fraud that impacted the election in 2020. None- thrown out of court by Trump appointed judges time after time. Just because he's a poor loser and the cult follows his lead doesn't make it so. This shouldn't be an Orwellian reality.

Make election day a holiday. Let everyone register and vote however they want, early, in person, by mail. Have non partisan election officials certify - like we do today!
Did you read it?

quote:

Unvaccinated ICU patients with COVID-19 far outnumber those who are vaccinated.

The former tallied 47 in Alberta Thursday. The latter, 18.

The numbers are just as imbalanced using proper metrics: 5.2 unvaccinated people per 100,000 are in the ICU. That rate drops to 0.4 with two doses.
There are some crazy people on the fringes of both sides. Which is another reason we need a third party - call it the ethical party, or one that focuses taking every issues and working toward compromise.

Probably too Pollyanna, but it's really the best way forward.

You are a special kind of sheep.

Ironic- Everything I stated is fact. Not disputable. Based on evidence and critical thinking. The exact opposite of following along without thinking.

Or how do you explain the bear repellant, nooses, bullet proof vests, etc.? How do you explain all those judges throwing Trump's case out in a hot minute? I know the mental gymnastics required to ignore evidence takes a lot of skill, I'll give you that.
